This story happened a few years ago at college. I had just left the weight room but my friend had stayed, and saw What happend. There was this girl doing squats. I am not sure what the weight was. However, she was standing on a box. Well she fell her head landing on the box and the bar came down on her crushing her face, and her neck. It was a supprise that she did survive. She had to have face reconstructed, and a neck brace. She came back little over six months later.

I once blacked out while benching; Luckily the bar missed my beautiful face and crushed my throat!

Busta Busss,

It's Done Out of Love Baby!

Had the same thing happen to me right out of college, doing incline flys with 85lb bar bells.  Left arm just ran out of gas, damn thing came down on my check and cut right into my gum!  I could literally poke my finger through my cheek, perfect slice too, scar is nearly invisible now!

Never had an injury as bad as yours, but seen it happen many a time.  The secret to survival on bench exercises is simple.

Your dominant arm, point it straight up in the air and let your other arm come to your side.  (If you were standing it looks just like a text book Karate punch when the striking arm extends the blocking arm moves back and to your side.)  Do this while still holding the bar, the weight will slide off the lowest end of bar and slam to the floor.  The remaining weight will flip the now unloaded side of the bar over and way from you and start to fall to the floor.  It Is VERY IMPORTANT to keep holding onto the bar with the still extended arm!  Because the weight will slide off the other end and the bar will come falling down.

The other best known method is identical with the exception that you actually have time to safely lower the weight and rerst in on you chest. With the weight to your chest and ditch the weight to one side against initiating the see saw motion!  Loud as hell but keeps you out of the emergency room for a while anyway!

Take the girl out anyway dumb ass, you will be able to milk the hell out of these sympathy points!  Re-schedule that date, you've got a good excuse and get yer ass back in the gym slacka!

Yo Busta,

Nice Son!!  You know you gets love from me kid!

Squats are a different story, get in "the box" and do the seated hack squats on those!  Doing high weight standing up is crazy, even in the squat cage or on rails you can still get caught underneath and get seriously jacked up!

Roll up on shorty kid, especially with Valentines Day coming up!  Just come out of the blue and hit her with a hypothetical.  Something like, "So what do really beautiful women like to get for Valentines?  (With a Joking, Smart ASS Like Tone) OBVIOUSLY, there's a lot of heat coming off you So What Would YOU Expect to get from somebody?"  Lets her know you're interested, gets her anxious and keeps you at the table for more helpings!

One more thing kid, when you collect on the "sympathy slice" put a sock on the pickle so you can preserve your airsoft fund for years to come! 8)
