Question about the Systema Bore-Up Cylinder Set
« on: May 27, 2006, 05:03:22 PM »
Systema Bore Up Cylinder Set

I'm thinking about putting that into a Classic Army M15A4, my plan is to couple that with a tightbore barrel and a M100 spring. But I read in the description that it is recommended that I have at least an M120 spring or higher. What will happen if I just use a M100 spring. (I'm aiming for 360fps consistently)

Honestly I don't think you'll have issues running a 100 instead of a 120, but if you want to hit 360 with the bore-up kit, you'll need a 110.

Well I was under the impression that a 100 will go from 340 to 360 consistently and that with the bore up cylinder set plus a tightbore barrel I'd probably be adding anywhere from 10-15 more fps. I wouldn't mind going to 380-390fps though using a M110.

Question though, how loud will it be, because if I can get away with just an M100/M110 spring and a tightbore barrel and still maintain at least 360 fps then I'll replace the bore up set with a silent set.

Don't waste you money, the bore up is designed to be used with a higher rate spring, The forces and speed of the spring is what makes the cylinder head seal, I would go with a Systema 120 or Prometheus Non-Linear Spring MS135

In other words right now, the cylinder head moves very freely inside the cylinder, When a force <or = to 120 is applied. It then forces the O ring to seal up the cylinder head. without that greater force you will lose FPS

Ok it sounds like I'll be going for the silent piston/cylinder, tightbore barrel, and a M100 spring.
