Unfortunately, it really isnt a democracy when it comes to community meetings. All it takes is for one person to be against the project in order for it to fail. When I applied for the 100k grant, as I said all was going well. Before then I requested permission to run a paintball field in my home district. To my surprise they were very supportive. However when it came to airsoft there were 2 members out of 15 at the meeting who were against it. The milsim aspect of airsoft made them uneasy. All it took was the 2 to kill the project. Im sure I can win over the reps, but when it comes to the community members its really up in the air. Then again, I have never had any dealings with this particular district, they may operate differently.

More to come. . .

So, it looks like the challenge is how to present your proposition to the community council in a way that "downplays" the milsim aspect.

This would be just flat out awesome.  I really hope this project can be made successful...

oh, and i just had to say something about Poland's post... they mentioned buying TM weapons... and the AK47 is very reliable and durable, but needs more than a 7.2v 600mah battery to run it.  Stock ones are 8.4v 1300mah... and the one i use is 8.4v 3300mah.  LPEGs would bring that field to a short end to players who may need rentals and get stuck with it.

I'd like to know the progress on this project.. i'd love to play there!

AKs with 7.2v 600mAh batteries (for the sake of full-auto realism, a certain JT employee suggested to me when I bought my AK)

I never said 600mah, the 7.2v that I use occasionally in my AK is 1800mah, with a 15amp discharge. The lower voltage slows the rate of fire, giving it a distict sound while conserving rounds.

Eh, I'm not experienced with this kind of stuff so I just threw out a number after I put down the general idea.

Hope to hear from you soon, AZTAC.

I would definetly help with labor and costs of fixing it up. Even something as little as fresh paint would do a lot for it.

One word of advice, you shouldn't put words into peoples mouths. Especially when you cant remember exactly what they said

If you are not sure of something, you say you are not sure, this is how misinformation gets started. Gezzus

My only access to the net is at work and Ive been off for 2 days but Im back. I had no luck contacting the rep I first made contact with. Once I restablish contact I can lay down a definitve time table for everyone to follow. I lost the rep's number and the district office wont give that number out. I called the office yesterday and gave them my info to pass onto the rep. Ive been waiting for a call back since then.

Im glad to see some support. Ill write more later today when I get to my EMS station, Im at headquarters right now awaiting assignment.

Well so far no luck with contacting the rep. I have been contacting various insurance companies with no luck of insuring airsoft alone. They all ask for a minimum of 3 years of managerial experience, with the exception of one company. They will take a passing grade in a certain class(pti c6) in lieu of the 3 years. I havent yet contacted that company to see if they will insure airsoft alone. gotta go. . .

Been waiting for some time now for the rep to get back in contact with me. But believe me I am still working for you all at this project. Oh and I dont know what is up with the pics. I dont know why they arent showing up on the page. They are still in my photobucket account. Ive been in town (tucson) the past 3 days for my EMT refresher course. Havent seen home in 7 days cause I came from a 4 day continous shift to here in tucson. Cant wait to get home to my family.
