Hey is wasn't all bad, right!

got to love the smell comig off the "pond" early in the morning while running around like dumb jerks. The roar of 1st tanks running up and down the side of the main road, LAAVs charging in and ouf the dunes , trying to keep from getting run over in the dark. The days are hot as hell nights the same, then winter, cold mormings crazy wind storms. sand in my crack, ears eyes mouth, not the regular sand, that fine powder stuff that would come in under the portholes and the hatches at the "barracks" more like dorm rooms to me, course I was married with housing off base, and even there we got snowed on one year.Oh and the towns folk were sooooo nice, or how about when dennys ( i think it denny's)  went in, that put 29 sticks on the map, there was damn line just to get in the door and eat there the first week they opened up.

How long ago where you there? I did '98-99-2000 there with the pump out to oki and onto korea for some pusan amphip ops, Danm cool there, floated on the 'LHAS Bella Wood on it's last pac west float, I think the Navy scrapped her out.

Oh  C*#$P I think I just had a flash back

'Dragon Back'
"Sand Pile"  or  "Back Yard"
"Steel Knight"

Sorry I  had to relate to your comment. See you out in the battle zone soon, I hope. See you then killer!
