Upgrading my M4
« on: August 07, 2006, 08:55:20 PM »
ok guys while all my other gear is on order i need to upgrade my TM m4's internals. I want to shoot up to 400fps with .2's. So far ive looked into
Systema m120 spring
Systema 6.04 tightbore inner barrel
Systema spring guide with ball bearings for version 2 gearbox
Systema oilless metal bushings
G&P m140 high torque motor
Systema Poly piston
Systema high torque gears

would this set up give me the FPS that i want along with a great rate of fire with a 9.6 3000 maH battery and an almost bulletproof gearbox? Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You don't need the piston and the motor, TM has good stock parts. I say get an M120 and bushings, then the tighbore, and eventually, after a few games get gears.

A PDI spring would be better, they are a little bit shorter and they are offset so they don't put as much tension on your gearbox. They also will give you a consistent FPS for longer. I think systema is good too, but PDI is supposed to be the best.
And you said that you want ball bearing and metal bushings, you don't need both. The ball bearing are more likely to mess up with that FPS, but they would give you a higher ROF. and the metal bushings are just good because they are metal. (they both are metal, but you only need one or the other)
And I agree with Fish, you don't need a new piston because they are a lot better than people give credit to. Otherwise, looks good, I think I just ordered the same barrel. :D
