Rich "Ace" Franklin needs a new nickname!
« on: October 14, 2006, 09:52:38 PM »
Tonight at UFC 64, franklin got his nose knocked off his face!
It was so messed up. Anderson Silva kicked his ass so bad, I should be crying right now because I bet $100 on Francklin but it was a great fight.

Franklin will definetly need plastic surgery after that one.
For all those that missed it :

Now amagine that, except his nose is a few feet to the left
KTFO
Great night. Good domination by sherk.

Whatever, Bruce Lee would beat all of their asses into the floor, and then brag about it.

I truly hope you are being sarcastic.

Fish you bet $100 on Franklin?! Are you kidding me? Where have you been the last 5 years?! Did you see his fights with Jorge Rivera, Jeremy Horn, Lee Murray, Hayato Sakurai, or even Carlos Newton?! And you bet $100 on Franklin? Man if I were you I would lay off betting on MMA for a while atleast until you have atleast some knowledge of MMA outside of the UFC.

- I would explain the system he and his buddies use to bet on these sorts of fights but for his sake, I won't. The least I can say is it's pretty random.

PLT... wtf? It's only random on undercard fights since most fighters are new guys. But I did win the bet on the sherk vs. florian fight, and I won most undercard fights, so altogether I lost 20 bucks.

And yeah I have seen alot of silva's fights. I was just very impressed by franklin in his receant apearances. Big suprise, but now I truly don't know anyone in the middle weight division that can compete with silva. Swick has the best shot, but I don't think his good enough.

Also I just finished watching the wanderlei silva ppv with all his fights... amazing. I have already seen him fight in recent pride tournaments but his past fights were kick ass. This guy will definetly give chuck a run for his money, if the fight goes down that is.

Are you kidding? Bruce Lee was and probably still is the greatest fighter who ever lived.  All those UFC dudes with their grappels and whatnot, they wouldn't be able to get their arms around Lee.  Watch some of his movies, and see just how fast he is.  And I dont mean he owns in movies, but he kicks real ass in real time.

Bruce Lee's striking speed from 60cm (24 inches) away was five hundredths of a second.
Bruce did one-hand push ups using only 2 fingers.
Bruce was able to break a 70 kg (154 lbs) bag with a sidekick.
Bruce's famous "One Inch Punch" was able to knock back and off balance a 200lb man into a chair, using only 1 inch of striking distance.

The weight training program that Lee used during a stay in Hong Kong in 1965 indicated biceps curls of 36kg (79 lbs) and eight repetitions for endurance. This translates to an estimated one repetition maximum of 50kg, (110 lbs)  placing Lee in approximately the 100th percentile for the 55 to 64 kilogram weight class (121-141 Lbs)

Seriously, look at that.

One of my favorite fights Silva has been in:

I wish I could do that...

EDIT: I found a clip of franklins nose after the fight...
http://www.riderscartel.com/clip_info.aspx?vcid=2795
It shows his nose momentarily but it's enough. Man, that think looks bad. He already has had surgery on it. I really want to see how much they fixed it
