airsoft grenades
« on: April 03, 2007, 03:36:49 PM »
i was looking into buying some grenades, i was wondering what kind of grenades are allowed at LCVI. (if they can be used there, i would imagine they can be used anywhere)  I checked and might have over looked it at the lion claws website.  Is it only rubber dummy grenades, and escort grenades that are allowed? if so where could i buy some of the rubber ones? (i found escorts easy)

No, but since you did;

The BBs only shoot out the bottom, and the BBs actually have to hit a player to effect a kill. They're really meant for indoor play.

Does anybody know why they restrict it to Escort's only though?  What about the Deep Fire or PFI 'nades?  Just not enough time to mature yet, or is there a reason for not allowing those?

Plus they are or were around $50. Timer is also iffy.  If I were to host a game I would use them and just observe the 10 radius rule.

I do agree, being outside and having to have a bb hit you from a grenade is pointless. No one is going to feel them and it's more to add some effect to it. Too bad they just don't do what I stated above.

From what I have seen though the Deep Fires and PFI's are better in that regard.  I wanted to try GG in my PFI to see what the effects are.

I picked up one of the Deepfire grenades and like it so far.  You can adjust the timing on it and it blows up pretty nice with a decent shower of bb's.

I doubt we'll find much use for them at LC:VI though.

At LCV, the only grenades they allowed were Escort because at the time they were the only ones made that had any kind of a noise signature.  You didn't have to load BBs in them, they just needed make a noise so you would know when it landed.  And if you were within the kill radius of them you were dead.  Go respawn.  I don't think they got much use last year.  The player kit has not come out yet, but I speculate that the list of approved grenades will be expanded to account for the new models being produced.
