KJW 1911A1 Mags
« on: April 15, 2007, 07:51:44 AM »
I have a couple of KJW 1911A1 Magazines that are growing of age and leaking bad.  I think it is that the seals are getting too old.  Any help in pointing me in the right direction to get new ones would be great cause having this beautiful thing sitting in the holster just for show is a shame.

Thanks in advance,
Dobbins

Just remove the vavles, and put pipe sealant around the threads and around the o-ring.  Wipe off the excess.

Thank you much, I will give it a shot.

Also, if anyone has any suggestions as well, please feel free to add input.

I may do that as well, it would probably do it some good to get new seals.  Do you know that they have that small of ones?

probably, you could check APD or SAD first, see if they have the seals in little packets. If those stores are a no-go, hit up the hardware stores.

Lube them good with silicone grease and keep gas pressure in the mags at all times to keep it from happening again.

My KJW M9 mags lasted over 2 years, leak free.

Once in awhile, spray some silicone inside the mags then charge with gas.  The liquid will work it's way to the packings and lube them up.

If I do recall I purchased this pistol from ya a year or so ago.  I continue to spray them with silicon oil but I think they had just been past their prime.

All the berettas and the 1911 series do atleast, as for the thing about the new 1911 mags, they are probably the p14.45 which are easy to find but the 1911a1 single stack style are hard to come by.
