Thank you to all the players who braved the weather at
OPERATION: WEST WING. Everyone who attended will receive a free admission to the next Operation in March. Those who prepaid but couldn’t attend due to weather concerns can apply their admission to the next event. I will recap the highlights for those who couldn’t make it out to the event.
Day 1 Training Missions14 players joined us for multiple practice missions based on the next day’s adventures. The missions went extremely well and everyone had a great time. A few of our guests decided to head home prior to the night missions.
The night missions were extremely intense. Close quarter fighting in the dark really challenged everyone’s skills. Fortunately, everyone stayed safe. We concluded the evening with a camp fire and trading stories about the day’s events, airsoft adventures past and those to come.
Day 2 OP: West WingThe day started off wet and got only more so! Amazingly we had 20 players come out in rain to attend the game. One of our sponsors, Nathan Merithew, from
NEVER QUIT INDUSTRIES came out to support the players. Nate made sure that everyone received a free hat and samples of ASAP Meal Replacements.
MTT Guests can save $20 on a box of 20 ASAPs by using the code “airsoft†when ordering from
www.nqinutrition.comMission 1 started exactly on time (10 am). During mission 1, the US Rangers were able to recon Objectives Alpha and Bravo in Ar Rutbah, Iraq. However, the Fedayeen put up a strong resistance and were able to keep the Rangers from completing a reconnaissance of Objective Charlie.
The Fedayeen were able to successfully transport their SCUD missiles to all three launch sites. Mission 1 ended at 11:30 as both teams returned to the staging area to reload for the next battle.
After a 45 minute break, both forces returned to combat. During Mission 2, the Rangers made a covert insertion to Objective Charlie and were able to complete their reconnaissance of the objective without suffering any casualties.
The Rangers then pushed hard as a complete force against Objective Alpha and were able to destroy the SCUD missile at the site. However, in the smoke and confusion of the destruction of the missile, two Rangers were wounded and captured by the Fedayeen.
US Forces then consolidated and made a strong push to the north of Ar Rutbah to make a strike against Objective Bravo. The Ranger team successfully assaulted the ammo dump and was able to destroy a second missile location. US Forces then extracted their wounded from the area to prevent them from being captured. Mission 2 was terminated slightly early as all objectives had been accomplished.
Players returned to the staging area for a short break and PRIZE RAFFLE. MTT would like to thank all of our sponsors who provided some great gifts to our players.
GEARBOX AIRSOFT donated two $25 gift cards along with lanyards and speed loaders to the game.
Larada’s Army Navy provided one $40 and three $20 gift cards
War-Toys.com donated mini rifles and three Dragon Action Figures of Ranger Colonel Danny McKnight
MTT gave away two Adventure Annual Passes and three SPEC OP Passes
Due to weather's effect on the roads and the washes, a vote was taken among the players to determine whether to continue or end the Operation. Although the vote was close, MTT Staff decided to terminate the event for safety purposes as the rain was getting stronger.
Every single player came away with at least one prize, a bag of bb’s, a lot of mud and some great memories! Thank you to everyone who made such a tough day so much fun for me as an event coordinator. Please feel free to share your thoughts about the event with me.
The next major OP will be held over the weekend of March 8 and 9.
