I have a question for the brains working here Its the future, cars are no more and were using something like the Jetsons, Your going to say Mars and you push the pedal to the metal, your at light speed, will your turn signals work?? Boggels the mind does'nt It...... :? ..........  Just alittle something to think about. Theres more where this came from.

It depends on where the observer is, if you are following, then you would also be traveling at lightspeed and the turnsignal would appear normally. regardless, if you are able to observe the craft, you will see the turn signal. It would be hard to observe a lightspeed craft at a static point though... I am talking out of my ass right now.

How bout this, if you fell through a shaft that went through the earth, would you just keep flying back and forth as you gained distance from the core?

it depends on how far away from you they are... astronomers believe that the universe is currently expanding (think like bread rising) and that the farther 2 objects are apart from each other the faster they're moving away from each other, and that by logical S.W.A.G. there are stars that we'll never see because the light they're giving off is moving away from us faster that it's moving towards us, despite the fact that it's moving towards us.

Trump card for mind twist involving relativity.

I recommend reading this book to get a basic understanding of some of this.  It's got great info but isn't written to the point a professor in astrophysics is needed to translate it. :)

That was one of my favorite books of all time. I still have trouble remembering the section on string theory. No matter how many times I read it. By far, the best chapters are the ones on space-time, and how we interact with it.
