Possible AO in Queen Vally Superior Area
« on: August 13, 2008, 10:47:49 PM »
I was wondering if anyone knows of or has played at a place called 'The Jungle' in Queen Valley?  The place I'm thinking of is right near a dam and it's kind of a riparian type area.

I used to Paintball there about 4 years ago and never went back to see if it's changed at all. I think it would be pretty cool to play out there.  A lot of interesting cover and concealment and the terrain isn't too bad.

I know the area that you speak of.  Several years ago the traffic there had increased with paintballers and regular shooters. At that time they had placed no trespassing/shooting signs everywhere.  I don't blame them, at the time it was only about 1/4 to 1/2 mile from a housing development and the noise from constant firearms going off all weekend long probably got annoying.  Have not been there in a few years but once it is determined to regulate something it is very rare that they voluntarily remove the regulation.  So it is probably most likely still prohibited to shoot there.  But please feel free to do the proper research if you’re curious about the area.

On another note the area was pretty small in my opinion and did not have enough good hard cover, just tons of branches. Would be fun with a small number of people but I just hate shooting through branches so.

Agreed. I do remember having a lot of fun with about 20 or 25 people playing paintball, but airsoft brings many different dynamics. Maybe 10 or so to a team? 15 max?

Anything anyone would recommend about finding out about the place, other than heading out there and checking it out in person?

We played a few times just up US60 about a mile West of the Arboretum. The games went well and we even got a visit from a Forest Ranger who said she was cool with what we were doing.

Picketpost Warrior AO is Suoth of US 60 and about a mile and 1/2 from Picketpost Mountain. Still good to play, but it's too damn hot this time of year.

Game field.. oh, maybe 1000 acres of open desert, lotsa cactus, but neat terrain.
