Ryan, did you ever play Flashpoint or Arma?
Yes on both accounts. But not the full game, as Vince has pointed out "all I do is play Demos"
If the game has no demo or the demo doesn't show me what the game can do, then why would I ever spend good money on an unknown?
But to answer your question a bit more thoroughly, I tried the arma demo and quickly deleted it. The ultimate reason was because the game did not run smooth at all, even on the lowest settings and I have a decent computer. Another reason was because it was hard to clearly see enemies within engagement distances, to pixilated especially with the vegetation.
I never really got into Flashpoint because at the time my computer was too slow to run it, but well after the fact I tried it again and it was somewhat fun. But the AI was very stiff as I would describe and the graphics were just sub par again, especially with the terrain. The basic game design heavily relies on infrastructure and vegetation as the ground soldiers’ main field of operation and with these visual limitations I felt it seriously hindered the game.
Basically I'm hoping that OPF2 will be more realistic, detailing more realistic terrain to combat over, allowing for challenging but fun co-op modes, accurate world physics, with soldier customization of look, gear, weapons and their accessories. A lot of FPS games out there are just made so you can shoot a lot of people in a short amount of time with out a ryme or reason to the situation. It's like they are just throwing massive amounts of bodies at you in close proximity so you can shoot a lot of people. A.D.D is a serious problem.
