CQB AZ Airsoft
Arizona’s first indoor airsoft arena!
http://www.cqbazairsoft.comWhat to expect:
If anyone has experienced a indoor airsoft arena location before you’ll know exactly the kind of game play that is offered by this setting. CQB (close quarters battle) is the current median for armed conflict both on a local scale (PD, SWAT) and military level (squad based building to building skirmishes). Spartan is the best term to describe national airsoft fields. Plywood and lumber is used to create unique field designs, allow for simulated building environments, and is unique in that the field can be redesigned as needed with little cost.
Game rules can be determined by squads before hand to meet a variety of styles. Full auto madness, semi-auto tactics, attack and defend (two “houses” are located at opposite ends of the field), capture the flag, rez battles, the options are only limited by your imagination. The field size will accommodate two squads of 6-10 in most scenarios. With the generally short duration of the average indoor game if multiple squads are on hand there is a ready room and lounge to wait for your squads rotation in (in regular weeknight play usually the winning team keeps the field). Staff is on hand to answer questions, referee league matches, and provide assistance as needed.
As the doors first open we anticipate mainly airsoft enthusiasts at first. People like us and you who love the hobby, strategy, and skill that CQB airsoft offers. As word gets out younger age groups may be prevalent on the weekends. We’ve seen this happen in other states and there was no easy answer offered as to how to preserve the tactical squad based fun of our 20yr-40yr old core group while playing amongst the younger weekend crowd. Our solution is below.
Open up more days for airsoft! Indoor airsoft fields generally have a higher overhead due to the amount of floor space (warehouse space) required to run a functional field. To cut costs many operate on smaller play weeks (Fri-Sun Open is common). This has the unfortunate effect of lumping the entire player base on the field at the same time. We will be opening up additional nights (Tues and Weds to begin with) for member only play with Thursday-Sunday being open field days. Membership has a minimum age of 18 and a monthly fee (priced similar to martial arts, rock climbing gyms, and similar hobbies). Our goal is to create sustainable squad based combat at centrally located air-conditioned facilities in the Phoenix area. From previous experience we’ve seen how fun playing weekly or every other week with a squad can be. With the close proximity to most its feasible to meet up with your squad one day a week after work, train for an hour or so until the competition shows, and have a blast playing for this weeks bragging rights. Having a facility that is accessible year round enables the formation of more squads, quicker games, and creates or enhances a great community of airsoft enthusiasts.
Much more information is available, stop in for a tour! In the near future you can expect to see an onsite store, lockers in the ready room (permanent lockers for members will be available), and an enhanced lounge. In the undisclosed future we anticipate opening additional fields in the Phoenix area, each one accessible as part of membership or for non-members individual field/rental fee’s.
We’ll be opening soon following beta night. Constructive feedback is encouraged from the Beta Night crew. If you haven’t applied yet we are limiting space to 14 people (2 squads) to ensure rigorous testing of the field. Follow this link for more information on Beta Night
