Just upgraded ???
« on: January 29, 2010, 10:46:59 PM »
I have a question I hope someone with experiance can answer me being I am new to airsoft.
Just bought echo1 m4 stag arms, ALL Metal case, I took the gearbox apart being I shot about 20k rounds and I orded up some new parts.
When I took apart the box I noticed it has BEARING bushings, Black box casing and says ECHO1 on it.The cylinder is all plastic except for last tooth.
Is this a good box from the get go ?????
I Installed a Echo 1 / Modify SP110 spring (H102402463 / MODM110). (PACKAGE SAYS S110+) IS THIS BETTER THAN THE ONE IT HAD STOCK ?????
Also had a MADBULL TBB barel now at 363mm (STOCK WAS SOMEWERE AROUND 300 I think) I HAD ONE HELL OF A TIME GETTING POS TO SEAL. Never again will I buy a MADBULL TBB.
Using a systema Bucking now and tried a guarder bucking but neither sealed it good.

Main question is WAS THIS GOOD upgrades and will I see a difference ????
TO DARK OUT RIGHT NOW TO TELL !!!!

1. That's the piston. and that's pretty normal... could be really nice, could be utterly not. Time will tell.
2. Echo 1's are usually very decent to good out of the box.
3. That depends on what you mean by 'better'.
4. What is this saying? I don't understand it.
5. What exactly are you trying to get to seal? and how are you 'testing' this seal?

POS is Piece Of Sh@*
and Im testing the seal of the bucking itself. Im putting it under water and blowing air through it while holding the 2 open ends of the hopup. Air leaking between the barrel and the hopup unit. LOSS of air = loss of power.

I know what POS means. POS isn't something you purchased though... if you want help, quit being snotty about the questions people ask when they're trying to help you.

Well, that's not how it seals in your gun, so you're testing it poorly.
the nozzle moves into the bucking itself. You would need to test the seal through the nozzle pressed into the rear of the bucking. Also, you need to test it without water, that changes the situation of the test.

Axis is correct....

And the nozzle sitting in the hopup does have an effect. It should expand the rubber a little bit if its fitted properly and to test it you should have either your gearbox out with the grip attached and adjusted, then hold the barrel with rubber up to the nozzle and fire while pressing your finger against the other end of the barrel. if there is no pressure or it just blows the bucking off, your problem is right in front of you. I said in a previous thread that madbull barrels are notorious for not sealing against the bucking because of the anodized finish on the barrel..You can help this out by taking some thread tape(teflon pipe sealing tape) and tightly but evenly wrapping it around the last 1/8in of the bucking and the rest onto the barrel..just enough to keep the bucking sealed and in place. You may also just have to try out some different buckings but personally I would get a better barrel instead like a laylax or PDI.

not being snotty just thought that was what you didnt understand SORRY.
How I sealed it was pretty much how you said it.Little teflon tape on the barrel right at the point were the bucking ends. WORKS good now. Just think that if they want to charge mid range money for an upgraded barrel. It should be faily easy to seal.
If air excapes around the bucking and barrel. Then they obviously have some issue with specifications though dont you think. Was told that their (madbull) bucking seals but the hop up control isnt that great.

sorry if It came off wrong but dont want to insult or come off as snotty bro.

Busta and I have both had issues with getting madbull barrels to seal.
For a quick and easy test without assembling everything, you could put the nozzle into the hopup bucking and hopup unit, and try the blowing thing while holding the nozzle sealed. This won't be as accurate as the correct way that busta pointed out.

Although I can't really recommend placing the hopup unit into water.

Well after placing it into water to look for air bubble I did blow it out goog with compressed air to dry it and the relubed it with some silicone spray lube.
