Hey there.
« on: April 21, 2010, 05:17:35 AM »
Hey everyone. Names Josh, 16 years old and from Maine.

I'm new to airsoft (haven't played a game yet). More than likely going to be moving to AZ in a couple months. Before I bought my first gun I wanted to know if there are any non-cqb areas to play at in AZ (Phoenix, Tempe area). I really wanted the KWA M4 RIS as my first, however, I'll obviously need a new idea if there aren't.

Thanks, look forward to playing with you all soon!

Well there is a new one opening on baseline and val vista. But that's more in Gilbert. As far as CQB AZ goes, they've been down for a while claiming they're moving. It's been a while since they shut down, but I'm not too sure if they had to shut down their operation or not. Hopefully they will be up and running again soon. Aside from these two places, those are the only cqb places I know of in the area.

OP asked for NON-cqb places.
Which is pretty much every game.

you sir, are my new favorite member.

here's the rundown; AZ is almost purely non-cqb. I would suggest setting your load-out up for somewhat ranged engagements. I mean, there is the MTT UAC, they have some cqb action. then there is the new CQB arena opening up down the street from my house.

but other than that, I havnt been to a game where a cqb setup would be better then one designed to give you some range. we do have a pretty good variety of AO's out here, you can go from being in the mountains with trees and snow everywhere one week, then find yourself hiding behind cacti for cover out in the desert the next.

oh yeah, last tip....get a hydration carrier ;)

Come out to the RU field sometime. Local games are hosted in the RSVP section. We have a BBQ this upcoming May. Hope to see you out there.

Thanks,
Doc

Haha yeah I was planning on it. I'm expecting to see a big difference going from Maine to AZ.

Won't be out there in May unfortunately, my mom doesn't want to move out there until the fall. Understandable I guess ha.

yeah, it will be a big difference. I spent a good amount of time in nh, and ny (hometown). I love it back east, but arizona has a great climate.

I hope you enjoy it out here :)
