If you need them real quick, I would've just gone to Hobby Bench and bought both the male and female connectors. I've also been able to go to the Batteries Plus in north Phoenix and gotten them to solder the connectors onto batteries for free. If they weren't open, there's an airsoft/paintball shop just a block or two eastward that will also do it.

By the way, that last picture... aren't the dean's connectors used for airsoft.

Dean's connectors for airsoft are the ultra-t plugs, not the 4-prong ones.

No 10 total installed.

oh, i see. well either way... its alot cheaper if you DIY ;)

Not if you dont know how to solder and you wreck the deans connector. wouldnt be the first time someone melted the connector because they didnt know what they were doing. if you dont feel comfortable soldering then let someone who does handle it.. or man up and learn by doing it.

yes! haha, there are an abundance of video tutorials on the net - if he really wanted to learn how to do it the correct way he could do so easily in under an hour. the link i provided is a very valuable research!

I've soldered, unsoldered, and resoldered a single, actual Dean's Ultra T more than 15 times without any melting. A bit of discoloration, but no melting. I've seen slight melting on the imitation ones... but never to the point where a plug was wrecked.

Are you using an acetylene torch to solder these?

I understand that as far as macro-sized (i.e. not 1mm dual-sided circuit board transistor sized) soldering goes, t-plugs are some of the most frustrating... but it's pretty tough to screw up imo.

I actually learned to solder on deans plugs. Like a axisofoil said, it's pretty hard to screw up. Don't hold the other side of the connection with your hand either, it gets HOT!!

:-$ Shh...  That's what people are supposed to learn on their own and THEN you tell them to bend a piece of cardboard and slice two slits into it to hold the plug at a nice angle. lol.
