Confrontation 2011 at UAC Nov. 12-13
« on: January 12, 2011, 05:05:40 PM »
MTT and SOT-G are in the planning stages for the Confrontation 2011.

ABOUT CONFRONTATION 2011
The “Confrontation” series is a Special Operations Training Group (SOT-G) event like no other, designed by SEAL’s for “would be” operators that want a taste of the real thing. Make no mistake about it, this is not a game. You will be trained, tested and lead by the world’s most prolific Special Operatioons Warriors. Ask yourself…do I have what it takes? Can you survive 20 hours of intense military tactical training and simulated combat missions?

Confrontation 2011 Course Outline
November 12 – Combat Training
This type of training is a requirement at the beginning of SEAL Team Squadron Training, under the umbrella of Unit Level Training. It is the basic building block for all operations conducted in Special Operation Forces (SOF). Weapons handling is the basic skill set inherent to safe training and successful operations. All SOF skill sets are based off of this primary skill.

Objectives:

•The group will be broken down into equal squads (based upon uniform pattern) in compliance with SEAL Team protocols.

•Each squad will be assigned a Primary Instructor (PI) who possesses SOF inherent skills and combat experience. The PI will instruct his squad on the conduct of combat operations in accordance with SOF protocols.

•Each squad will conduct training over:
o Weapons and Marksmanship
o Patrol, Ambush, and Reconnaissance
o Close Quarter Combat and Military Operations in Urban Terrain

November 13 – Combat Missions
Squads will participate in three 1-hour simulated combat missions using airsoft equipment. The missions will feature staff opposing force (OPFOR), civilian role players, and the use of military vehicles. The missions will require squads to utilize the skills gained during Basic Combat Training to complete the following missions:

•Patrol Ambush
•Raid
•Hostage Rescue

Confrontation 2011 FAQ

Q: Who are the instructors?
CONFRONTATION 2011 SOT-G INSTRUCTORS

Robert Roy
A 26-year veteran of the U.S. Navy SEALS. Specific experience and areas of interest include all matters related to counter terrorism, hostage and kidnapping situations. Robert is the founder of SOT-G.

Mark Ridgeway
A 27-year veteran of the U.S. Navy SEALS. Specific experience and areas of interest include instruction in Advanced Special Operations/Advanced Force Operations (ASO/AFO) methodology for various Department of Defense entities, intelligence and counter-intelligence.

Q: I heard that SOT-G consulted for the Sony Playstation Game SOCOM US Navy Seals. Is this true?
A: Yes, many of the operators who work for SOT-G provided the storyline, tactics, and motion capture for the game design. More information about SOT-G can be found by visiting http://www.SOT-G.com

Q: Can minors participate? Do parents have to stay at the event?
A: Minors can particpate after an interview with MTT Staff or by attending an MTT Event such as the Marauders Training Challenge. Parents do not have to remain at the event.

Q: Is this event similar to the OP: Lion Claws series?
A: The LC series is a great series popular with airsoft players who enjoy military simulation adventures. Confrontation 2011 will provide an immersive special operations training experience. The key word here is "TRAINING'. If you seek a way to improve and test your warrior skills and mindset then Confrontation 2011 should exceed your expectations. If you envision yourself running around in a t-shirt with an AEG blasting several thousands of bb's into a bush, consider other training or airsoft venues.

Q: I heard that there are physical fitness requirements. Is this true?
A: No, but participants should be in relatively good physical fitness. Unlike, Confrontation '09 there will not be a large PT component.

Q: Are there any other requirements?
A: Psychological requirements include:
•No previous criminal background (juvenile or adult)
•No erratic or odd behaviors (determined by the Cadre)
•No one on probation or awaiting trial

Q: Are there sponsors for the event?
A: There are sponsors for the event to help offset the cost and provide marketing opportunities for the business and military units. Sponsorship opportunities are available for retailers and recruiters alike. Businesses or agencies interested in sponsoring or participating in Confrontation 2011 shoud send an email to MTTStaff@gmail.com

Q: Will there be a prize raffle?
A: Unlike airsoft games, there will not be a prize raffle at Confrontation 2011.

Q: Who are some of the sponsors?
A: These will be announced as they sign agreements.

look, Im 13, and I REALLY want to attend. I started my airsofting hobby for prior training in firearm techniques, and just to see how I responded to realistic action. If I thought I could handle it, I would start on trying to join the military. And If I want to get a headstart, I swear i must attend this. I have a family history in Military and training in Live Firearms. I'm not begging, but just consider. Thanks

If you still believe that airsoft is for 18+, you haven't played in America.

Our staff does appreciate the interest by younger participants in Confrontation 2011.  However, the age restriction is in place for a variety of reasons that have been tested by years of MTT training programs with teens.

The best way to earn a space at future events is to participate at MTT events that are open to younger airsoft players.  Marauders Airsoft hosts a variety of milsim games and training events that allow minors to experience events usually reserved for adults.  A good example would be inclusion of minors on the MTT squad at Lion Claws VII and VIII.

Exceptions to the restriction for Confrontation 2011 will not be made based upon forum postings.  Exceptions in the past have only been made for minors who have shown the discipline to attend similar programs. Thanks again for the interest.

Please send any age related responses to this post by PM or email to MTTStaff@gmail.com
Let's try to keep the discussion related to questions and ideas about Confrontation 2011.

Ok heres a question. Should we expect an ambush during the night?  [smilie=armata_pdt_36.gif] and is a ground mat REQUIRED? or just suggested for our own personal comfort?

Is any other type of desert accepted? Such as 6 Color Desert or Digital Desert? I know I will have a squad sized group who would be willing to go to this without a doubt.
