team battle?
« on: June 03, 2011, 09:43:32 PM »
i have only been in the sport for about 6 months but during that time i have played alot. from regular games to big events. i spend most of my time slinging bbs at pickup games. it is fun but not a wide variety of challenge when it is the same people every other week. and also there is not a whole lot of tactics used at pickup games. this is just a vague idea. it is similar to the PSC Kill house event, but overall i was wondering if there are any AZ teams out there willing to have a friendly battle.  This isn't to see who the best team in AZ is or which team has the bigger dick, but a way for teams in AZ to practice and better their teams.  also the challenge of going against a group of people who actully use tactics.  thank your for your time. any feed back will be appreciated.  if your going to troll please troll somewhere else.

I think this is a great idea. To get some bigger teams interested, try coming up with a when and where this will take place so they know you're serious. Post the rules, roster, etc. I'm game though. Hopefully RU would let me battle with them, but if not I'm sure I could find another team that would take me as a temporary addition. Either way I want in on this event if it actually manifests!

Edit: Just found this, very similar idea to what you're proposing.

I agree, this would be a great way to settle the beef, and enjoy a friendly team battle. I am all for it.

Beef?  When you say that, it goes from friendly team battle to possible personal conflicts on the field.... that's just my opinion on what it sounds like.

This is a hobby based on honor and sportsmanship... having "beef" with anyone or another team is just plain immature.  I don't know about you, but I enjoy every game I play, no matter what.  Catch my drift?

Back on topic...
It is a good idea though.  I'm sure Saguaro is down for such an event.  We have a number of newbies that could use some of these kinds of challenges to learn from.  There are a lot of great teams out there, and an organized team "battle" would prove very beneficial.

Team tactics against team tactics help develop better tactics on both sides... therefor improving both teams in many ways.  Also, familiarizing each other with the different teams and tactics are a definite plus at major events (ie. Lion Claws) where most AA players are on the same team, where now common enemies are now your best friends... if you know what I mean.

breech= what beef brother? if there is any squash it.  the team battle i am talking is not about who is better. there is no prize at the end of day but the satisfaction and new knowledge earned from a day of battle.

silentdragon= i agree with you a 100%.

i want to start planning this out. maybe we can find a day to all get together and plan something out...

@SilentDragn I'm the same way, just there to have fun, no beefs.

Nik, are we talkin' Roast Beef like at Arby's, or beef like a juicy hamburger?  :P

Ok now that I've got that terrible pun outta the way... A get-together could be of use. Perhaps a good starting point would be to contact different fields (Vanguard, Fort Adobe, Fightertown, etc.) and see which of them would be willing to hold such an event and when, then maybe take a poll here on AA of which field people would prefer out of the ones that said yes? All just ideas to be considered.

Beef, as in whoever feels something negative with past given occurrences or situations. Whether it be friendly or unfriendly. That should sound a bit more clear. Do not take this the wrong way, but the sole representation of this sport is distorting at times, when you play all different types of milsim, pick up games, events, bbqs, charities, etc.

I myself play with honor and integrity, as should anyone else. You may not be around the receiving end of crap remarks, but I have had my fair share.Prior to this posting everyone felt that this would be a good way of settling the "beef."

If you catch my drift...I think I just farted from that crap Arbys? Hmm. Pun fail?

Regardless, I am down for friendly team competition with no current altercations or hate towards any teams or players. I do not care who is better, or who wins. To our prior knowledge have we have not tested or learned from each other really. Speaking team wise.
