AIRSOFT GI vs evike?
« on: March 27, 2011, 02:08:43 PM »
ok so i bought a combat machine m4 from airsoft gi, and it broke partially within half a week, and their return policy was 4 to 6 weeks to fix the gun and i had to pay all the shipping charges, i said no way and just took it to get repaired here in arizona. i was looking at evike and im not liking their selection of guns, plus there always out of stock on half of their guns. so my question is what company is better, and why?

gi. good customer service; reliable stocking system; comparable, if not lower, prices.

gun breaking isn't their fault, and you agreed to the return policy when you bought the gun, for better or worse.

GI if you're planning on buying new guns or whatnot.  Service is also always better.

Evike is shady sometimes when it comes to what items they have in stock, and their service isn't on par...  But their selection is nicer.

I prefer having orders come late from Evike over getting incorrect or defective items from ASGI.

I like RedWolf the best, but the shipping prices are high.

No airsoft retailer is perfect. That said, I've made 2 orders from ASGI with no issues whatsoever. Everything arrived timely, correctly, and in good condition. That's not to say they haven't screwed up other peoples' orders before though (just ask bowser). Although I've never personally ordered from Evike, I hear far less complaints about ASGI than I do about Evike.

Lordy, lordy! I just got a Evike delivery in a timely manner!  ..Arrgh, I like Evike's selection, but it really is a crap shoot to get anything delivered anywhere from 7 days to three months. (Yep, really).
Airsoft Atlanta, Airsplat and GI are my favorites, in that order.

I like them both, but recently I've been ordering from Evike and their customer service has been quite good, and shipping times have been average, I only had 1 problem with them which was them not updating their website and ordered something that was out-of-stock, and AirsoftGI has been superb for me.

I don't think I'll ever order from Evike again. However, it seems like Airsoft GI has been getting a little bit sloppy with their shipping lately. I would assume it's because of an increase in the volume of orders they have been receiving.

I know it wasn't addressed in the OP, but EB Airsoft (Ebaybanned) has great customer service. It takes a while for your item to reach you (they are shipping from Hong Kong, and it's free), bit it's a pretty consistent three weeks. I've even heard of them simply shipping another item out if the original they sent you was the wrong color. They've got a pretty good selection of internal parts, too.

Evike has gotten better for me lately. I made an order Friday(3/25), which was shipped out Monday(3/28), and arrived today (3/30). Everything I ordered is accounted for and in good condition. They also gave me a 16% discount coupon for next time.

I order from ASGI almost all the time unless they don't have what I want in stock then I check Evike and Evike usually says it's in stock and if it is, I'll order from them. I haven't had any problems with either of them. I did however order a package from Evike and they shipped it out on a Monday and I was supposed to get it on Thursday of the same week, but when it didn't show up I checked the tracking and it still said it was in California. I checked with UPS and it so happend to be in Ohio... Yea, I really don't know how it just skipped Arizona then went across the country with out being checked by UPS. UPS said it was their fault and flew it out here the next day. I personally think the fault on that was from UPS but it has only happened when ordering from Evike. Other than that, I've never had a problem with customer service or packaging or anything from ASGI or Evike.

Huge +1 for EBAirsoft. If you see something you like, MAKE SURE you read reviews (both on and off their site) to see how people thought of it, how it held up, etc. I've seen some pretty neat things come from them that could take a beating, and others that fell apart while putting it together.

If it is between GI and Evike? I'll go with Airsoft GI. Evike has messed up too many of my orders.

Evike is the only airsoft retailer I have ordered from and I have never had a problem, always fast shipping.

I agree with this 100% If ASGI had the selection Evike had, they'd be even better. I will always order from ASGI, only order from Evike if you're desperate for something.

Ive only had one mishap with ASGI, and it wasnt even totally their fault. Evike is good, but the shipping is bad for me. Ive only heard horror stories from Evike.
