Myth of High Caps.
« on: July 07, 2011, 06:13:17 AM »
Hey, I've wondered, many people have told me that winding your high cap mags until they do the distinctive click TWICE, that you will not have to re-wind it. Any speculations on this? I tried it once on a questionable mag I had, an it would get stuck and no bb's would come out.

Some mags will go on a full wind without needing a re-wind, others won't.

Also, you posted this thread in the wrong section.

That is the best answer.

Hi-caps have their drawbacks and in my opinion changing a mag is a lot faster than winding a mag once it's lost spring tension. Hi-caps are great for those starting out but as people become more serious they should start looking into standard mags or mid-caps, though I personally disdain any mid caps that hold over 120rounds. It ceases to be a mid cap any more in my opinion.

All of the M4 hi-cap mags that I use have that distinctive second click when they are fully wound, and feed until they're out of ammo.

I also use an auto-winder so I don't have to wind the magazines by hand.
