so , just came accrossed this thread. i was the one that organized the game at 47th ave and union hills (most of the old school players know this allready, and quite a few have played that a.o., granted not in quite a few years). overall i am in agreament with the ban, safe play must be fallowed to keep our hobby safe and as incident free as possible. i dont want to see anyone hurt as a result of airsoft any more than anyone else does. that a.o. was actualy used by chanel 3 for a segment on airsoft awareness. as far as that a.o. is concerned, the p.d. knows that it gets used for airsoft and as long as they get no complaints from the neighbors they have been ok with the field being used for airsoft. i have been out there when the p.d. has shown up and no one was arrested or been harmed. but anytime there is police involvement you need to obey every comand you are given, when there are any kind of percieved threats they will act accordingly untill they make sure of said threat. im not saying that there arent risks or condoning this type of play for the general public. but with proper precautions there can be safe play in special areas. but you would have to let every one possible know what is going on. that meens door to door personal contact, you would have to explain to every person possible what you are doing and the precautions you are willing to take to prevent any injuries to non-airsofters. this i have done, took me 2 days. thankfully since this a.o. has been active for close to 8-10yrs my job was a lil bit easier. please do not take this as a plea for you to lift the ban or sway your thinking. im just stating my opinion on the matter. i cant afford to pay to play on a regular basis, so i play where i can when i can.
what ever happened to the monthly a.a. games?
anything i can do to help bring them back, i have some free time to help, i know they take time and effort to come up with a.o.'s and senerios. im willing to contribute where i can to help our comunity. i know im still not the most loved person here. but i do still love this sport just the same as i allways have.
thank you for your time.

truth is most kids do the whole backyard airsoft before they even discover this forum. i did but as soon as i found AA it was to me a whole world i never knew lol i stopped the backyard crap a looooong time ago. the problem is we are talking about discretion you cant trust everyone including neighbors there are too many variables. thats why i stand firm on going out to forest areas where forest rangers expect to see real steal.
the sad thing is its a very easy concept to grasp but.. whatever

btw..OMFG PLEASE STOP PAYING TO PLAY GAMES..i play airsoft because its freeeeeeee go to the desert and hang with your buddies dont turn airsoft into paintball it wasnt designed that way. its not speedball bunkering with bright f'ng colors. its tools are realistic for a reason - milsim. you think your the fastest bunkerer" dude at any arena games? try to do the same out on a mountain or crossing a stream waist deep make it as real as you want with out the real steel obviously lol.

i know im not the only person who can host and pull over 100 ppl!!! <<<< in attendance at a freeee hosted game. its actually very fun to set it up especially if you like strategic games or what not.

I've been reading this forum for a while now and am kind of confused. When we say "backyard airsoft" does that meanin someones actual backyard or an area of land where an actual field is not set up?
