What comes with the silent piston set? Ie...poly carbon piston, etc.

You get a brass cylinder head, and a silent piston head with bearings. No piston or cylinder.

So to shoot for buy stay under 350 should I go with a PDI 120%?

Harley, should I go ahead and get a piston as well with that silent piston head set?  Which one should I get?

The Thompson uses a V3 gearbox IIRC.  A PDI120 would EASILY keep you under 350FPS.  If you want to get closer to 350 FPS, a PDI 140 would be a good bet to get you there without going over 350.

Ok, thanks.  I know its not much, but will a system nozzle, tightbore barrel, and a 140 still keep me under 350?

Maybe, but each gun is different and can give different results.  You'll just have to do some trial and error adjusting to get it where you want it.  Remember that you won't be able to use it for AA CQB games since the fps limit is 300 for those.

Thats fine, I doubt Ill go to may CQB games.  I do want to stay under 350 because some other events have 350 as their limit, and I cant put a 9.6v in the gun and dont want to lose much rate of fire, or battery life.

If you run an 8.4 volt 2000mah or higher battery your rate of fire is going to be VERY high, so don't keep thinking you need to run a 9.6 volt battery to do the same thing.  Even if you upgrade the gun to 400 fps the rate of fire is going to still be very high.

The M1A1 won't take a velocity reducer, but I would like to get a little more power.  What is the usual limit for CQB?  Im thining Ill shoot for a velocity of 350, but am not sure.
