OK, first off to use an AEG as a true sniper rifle for AA games you have to permanently alter the mechanism so it will ONLY fire in semi-auto.  

Now to make it a good sniper gun, meaning as acurate as you can make it, then a long inner barrel like a PSG-1 would be in order.  Next a bore up cylinder set to get the maximum air volume available, and finally some heavy BB's.  Of cours I'm assuming your running a metal body, with one piece outer barrel for maximum ridgidity to keep flexing to a minimum.

No because the AEG can still be made to fire full auto.  It is also unsafe since the AEG could never be made safe if a magazine was inserted.  It has to be permanent, like adding a plate inside that prevents the travel of the selector plate from going beyond semi.  

And it must pass Paco's scrutiny.

Since there has been a lot of discussion about sniper rifles on the boards the last couple of days, I have a few questions in GENERAL about modifications that would help make an AEG more effective if one decided to snipe with it.  I guess the two features (outside of bolt-action or semi-auto, excluding the PSG-1 of course) that make a sniper rifle are:

1)Increased FPS

2)Increased accuracy

In my experience, a sniper rifle doesn't have to shoot 500 FPS to be effective, but accuracy plays a much larger part.  My APS2 shoots around 300 FPS and I have made many kills with it. Other times, environmental conditions (wind, branches) have made me miss several shots at closer ranges.

Simply put:  If I were to buy a M16 or a SR17, what few modifications would make it better as a sniper rifle.
