crane stock. stuck

Hello everyone i am having issues with my G&G M4 crane stock. for some reason beyond my knowledge. the stock will not move with ease on the buffer tube. In matter of fact. I had to use my muscle just too move it up and down. I think some Tape residue on the buffer tube is too blame but i want your guys 2 cents or 500 bbs worth of advice on this.

I have had several stocks do this. The solution is always pretty simple. Check the back plate of the buffer tube, and there is a little Alan key screw and if it is lose it will get caught on the stock. Also check the bolt that the adjustment lever is connected to on the stock and make sure everything is tight.
