Tracer Mag
« on: October 29, 2012, 03:17:30 PM »
So I was randomly looking at stuff on Evike and I ran into an M4 mag with a built in tracer unit so you don't need the suppressor style tracer on the front of the gun. This is the first I've heard of them, not sure if it's new or just not popular. It is kinda interesting so I thought I would post it on here to see what you guys thought about it.

Seems a tad pricey, and its just another component that could break, in my opinion.
The price didn't seem that bad to me. Something else what could break yeah, but I thought it might be nice for the CQB guys that have their stubby M4's

or you can just do it yourself for $7... small, bright led light near the mag lip, wired to 2 AA batteries with an on/off toggle of your choice.

Had one years back. It's performance was less than stellar.

I picked up a JG tracer unit for $50 a couple years back and it still works well.  Not nearly as bright as the TM tracer, but half the price.

Seems like a tracer in the mag would be a pain in the but once you had to swap mags. I've always liked the ones in the suppressor/barrel extension/silencer (whatever you would like to call it) because your not tied down with only one tracer mag. The concept does seem neat though. If they could produce one with decent performance at an okay cost I would be interested. Won't the BB's lose their charge if they sit in the hop-up/feeding tube area?

I would rather invest in a madbull 3-1 hopup chamber.

I agree, I have a friend with one installed and its very nice, I have heard a lot of good things about them. Nice price too, then all you need is the tracer BB's.
