G&G TR15 Raider-L vs Lonex M4-A1
« on: January 20, 2014, 02:08:05 PM »
Hey y'all,
I am looking to buy a new rifle to trick out and all and want to get the most out of the cash so in saying this could I get your guys help on which you think would be a better buy? I am looking at the G&G TR15 Raider-L (http://www.guay2.com/web/gt_product/tr15_l.php?lang=en) and the Lonex M4-A1 (http://www.evike.com/products/43270/). I plan on upgrading the internals, but might wait a bit. In saying this, what I want to do right off the bat is put in a 11.1v LiPo. So I basically wanted to know which would better support right out of the box or if that's a bad idea and I should upgrade the gearbox, motor, etc?

Buy G&P. That be all.

You could buy a used gun that has been upgraded for cheaper.

But out of the two, I would go with Lonex; they are known for their internals. You could run an 11.1 LiPo in any gun, even a Sports Authority clear plastic M4. The question is; will the gun be able to take the beating?

I would personally go with the Lonex. Or even get a used gun. There's a lot of great deals on the forums. Just look around.

Awesome. Also, would I be better to go with a Lonex A3 motor or A2. I am looking for a high rate of fire, but still one that can handle the Lonex V2 gearbox.

I have no first hand experience with the A3 but from what I have read it is a high speed motor. In general high speed motors are pretty pointless. Most field guns run a 110-120 spring and a high torque motor can handle those extremely well with increased rof while the high speed might be able to pull those springs it would suffer lower rof.

Exception to the high speed motor nomenclature would be the SHS High Speed.

To the point the A1 or A2 would be a better choice. Also the AMP 5000l is very good and $10-20 less.
