HA! I just tried to get driving directions to the Swap (since I've never been, and would like to see what kind of prices Ron or Scott (those are their names, correct?) can get me on WA 1911's. Anyway, I tried to enter just 27th Avenue and Camelback Road, AZ in the destination. The resulting map gave me directions to "The Center of Arizona." HA! Anybody want a copy? LOL. [:D]

Seriously, though, what city is the swap in, or what's the specific address? School gets out soon, and I'll need something to do. Hitting the swap for some GBB prices should keep me busy. [:D] Thanks!

i was fairly sure it was in phoenix.. but if you take I-17 to Camelback... head west on camelback...then head north on 27th avenue... the swap mart is about 1/2 block up on the right side... it has a HUGE parking lot.  Go inside, and head down the middle of the place... he is about 4 or 5 rows back on the right side.  Hes the only place with camoflage netting over the front of his booth..hehe.  Side note.. it costs $1 to get into the swap mart.

This is the kind of crap that pisses people off.  Like Nil8r and Taz said, be sure of who you've actually spoken to and what their name is before you start quoting them.

Ron and Scott are great guys to deal with.  After crap like this I wouldn't blame them if they didn't want to give you the time of day.

Hey Scott & Ron, do you guys carry any mechbox parts?  If not is there a good place in town to get some advice on my internals?

What type of parts are you looking for? Let me know what you need, and I'm sure we can point you in the right direction.

If you're in Bakersfield why not just order parts from Airsoft Extreme or Jungletoys?

Sorry, sorry.  I forgot to update my profile after I moved here.  As for the parts I'm looking for it was mainly something to help prevent my spring getting stuck half-cocked.  I upgraded to an M120 and I would assume that my motor is having trouble consistantly compressing it.  I was looking at a high-torque gear set with probably a matching high-torque motor but I didn't want to add extra stresses when they weren't necessary.  Other than that I would be really nice to have someone take a look as I'm putting my mechbox together to let me know if I'm doing something obviously stupid.

When you say getting stuck half cocked, is that after firing full auto or semi auto?  When you fire in full auto the piston will stop in any number of positions.  Firing a couple shots in semi auto should put the piston at the full forward position.  Or are you saying the when the piston is at this position it seems like it's sticking and you can't get the gun to fire?  If that's the case I'd look at my battery as the culpret.

It's getting stuck after some full auto bursts.  The spring gets stuck half-cocked and then the motor isn't strong enough to complete the cycle and release the spring.  That's the main reason I thought I needed something "high torque" to resolve this.  I don't really want a higher ROF so upping the battery probably won't help me here.  I'm going to go see Scott & Ron tommorow and has this all out.  Here's hoping I get it all fixed by the game on the 26th [:D]

Local dealers
« Reply #28 on: May 11, 2004, 09:49:19 AM »
does anyone know of a decent quality dealer in phoenix/glendale/peoria? I saw soft air depot (but its in scottsdale), and i hear there is a store now next to where the old APD (az paint depot) is.

Any type of address i can write down, or website i can visit would be great.

Thx, this is a great resource to look at.
