Hav, what's wrong with Mormons? I'm one. Wanna take this outside??? [:D]

Nick, Mesa's alright, and it's a bit smaller than Phoenix (a LOT smaller). And it's closer to the desert out east where I like to go shoot. Lot's of nice areas out there. MCC is a great school, and there's plenty to do in the area. I'm at Country Club and Guadalupe, and is pretty well situated. I don't like the big city Phoenix clutter myself.

Just remember, it's a dry heat! (Sorry, had to!)

i guess the first thing i will do out in PHX is check out the schools and see which one fits me more. i think i'll prob need to start out at MCC until i get the hang of the area. thanks for the help guys.

im in mesa at the 101 and guadalupe.  used to live at country club and guadalupe, in the condo complex there.  (scorpion hunting every saturday night.  good times, good times..)  south west mesa is a good location, lower property taxes with all the benefits of the central location of being right near tempe.   and thats right around the amount you're looking at home price wise.

If you can squeeze out another $20K, you can get a brand new home in Anthem (Parkside), which is in North Phoenix.  Home prices out here are absolutely booming.  http://www.delwebb.com/anthemarizona/  I had mine built here 4 years ago and have already made a LOT in appreciation.

However, it also depends on where you will be working/going to school.  Phoenix is different from other large cities in that instead of growing UPWARDS (as in large buildings), we grow OUTWARDS.  For example, if you're going to work in Peoria, you won't wanservist?

Good luck either way... We all know you'll do well.

moving to PHX, AZ.
« Reply #19 on: June 03, 2004, 06:55:59 PM »
hey, i'm trying to figure out the logistics of moving to phx to finish my schooling and i was just wondering if you guys could help me.

most importantly, i'm wondering how often airsoft gets use here. i'm a big fan of real steel and will be picking that up as well but i certainly don't want to stop playing airsoft. due to the lack of real steel in chicago, my team plays airsoft almost every weekend. but that's just us, we're weird.

what are some of the "better" neighborhoods or suburbs in the PHX area that i should be looking for a house in?

what are the better community colleges in the area? universities?

any other info i should know about AZ/PHX? i was supposed to become a deputy sheriff here in chicago but since i'm moving out to AZ now, does anyone know if there are part time opportunities or reserved LEO positions?

just to intro myself aliitle, i'm a 23 year old guy from chicago that will be moving to PHX within a few months. i'm one of the leaders of team CiFOR which has 3 sections, CiFOR HQ (Chicago), CiFOR MN (Minnesota, CiFOR NJ (New jersey. CiFOR HQ (Chicago) has over 50 team members. i will POSSIBLY be starting CiFOR AZ.

been playing airsoft for 4 years now, been introduced and researching airsoft for over 8 years now. i currently maintain http://www.MilSimHQ.com and http://www.AirsoftSpecialistS.com .

thanks for all your help. i look forward to meeting all of you and i will be making my first "visiting" trip sometime this summer and i will be looking to checking out one of your airsoft games.

[Edit by Kamikaze_SM: This has a little do with airsoft, but the ensuing discussion doesn't.  Moved to correct forum.]
