Very true Riggs, or a army surplas, got mine from there, then you can try them on

There is one in Mesa, not sure where you live.  On Broadway and extension (I think)  Big yellow building you cant miss it

Hope it helps

Yeah, I got mine at Army surplas. I paid 29 bucks for the shirt, 29 bucks for the pants, another 29 for the boots, and like 8 bucks for a belt that I have no use with. <img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle>

I think Rhino is talking about Larada's, which is located on the north east corner of Main and Extension in Mesa.

Yep, thats Larada's. The have some knock off's of the new USMC BDU's there too. There's also a Surplus store on the NE corner of Dunlap and 43rd ave, and one a block south of 35th Ave and Indian school rd on the NE corner.

If you're in Tucson the only army surplus (the other two went out of business) is downtown. I don't know what the address is, but it's right off 5th and 5th I think. $26 each for jacket and pants. They have a wide variety of boots, I got magnums on sale for $50 (normally $80 or $100). I would defanatly recomend magnums! I used to buy the $20 pairs, but i would have to replace them every year, and they would hurt my feet, so I invested in Magnums. Once they're broken in it's just like wearing hi-top tennis shoes or something... they are very, VERY comfortable.

"When in doubt, Empty the Magazine." Don't use a cannon to kill a mosquito?! WHY NOT??!?

Yeah, I have Magnum boots as well.  Very comfortable.  I would recommend them if you can afford them.  Personally I'd wear them instead of tennis shoes if it didn't look so funny with shorts.

I have never seen a Wal-Mart (or any other "normal" retailer) that sells BDUs)  The closest thing a Wal-Mart would have is Advantage camo hunting jackets, which resemble BDUs, but are very different.

I'd say the best place to get BDUs is at gun shows.  You can get used jackets that look brand new for $4.  Most of the jackets we buy there look so new that we wouldn't have known they were used had the seller not told us so.  That's how they get you though, because jackets are usually $4 with the pants $25.  But if you you are paying $60 for a new set anyway, thats not too bad.  Used stuff usually works pretty well, and at very least its broken in already, saving you the hassle of breaking in stiff new pants.  Again, most of the stuff available at the shows are in quite good condition, near new stuff.  There are a couple tables who always have that kind of thing for a good price there.
