buying used AEGs
« on: January 24, 2005, 09:54:18 PM »
I'm looking for my first AEG, So I was wondering if buy a used one would be good. like from airsoftplayers.com/classifieds.  Would buying used be a wise choice or should I just buy new?

If you buy used, you are agreeing to buy a possibly broken gun.  But, to get a gun for a couple hundred with minor internal problems that you would have upgraded anyways, then it's a good deal.  New, you'd obviously be paying more, but you'd get it... well... new.  You can get them upgraded at the stores you buy them from so they are better than stock, but make sure you either go for a decent upgrade or keep it stock.

eh, i suggest going with new stuff for your first AEG.  i went used, and had to many problems to want to deal with (ended up breaking IN HALF for me a few months later).  you can get a new stock Tokyo Marui gun for 270 shipped with a battery and all from a number of overseas places (my fav. is www.hobbyasia.com ... made 3 AEG orders with friends and each one has been quick and easy... here 2 days from payment).

thanks for the link sniperwolf. Do the combos come with battery, hi-cap, and standard mag.    Does it come with a charger? This is the $270 deal for the M4A1 Carbine.

I have a pretty good friendship with www.airsofttroops.com  try them too.  They're a very good retailer.
Ivan Poon from www.Airsoft-Armory.com will also help you out too.  Both places are in Hong Kong and very friendly...

If you prefer stateside, go local.

well, theres mult. combo options, if you see the drop down bar on each AEG.  none of the combos come with chargers, though they do have the winstar charger (make sure they send you the right one, the 120/240V one.)

some of the combo options allow you to replace the standard with a high cap, others just give you a battery, and others a larger battery and a high cap in addition to the standard.  i suggest just going with the standard mag or a high cap and a battery for starting.

Try looking at some of the packages at Jungle Toy if you are interested in buying in the states.

Or you could just wait around for people selling on the forums. The brand new guy you might have to worry about, but the "regulars" who play often would have a hard time ripping anyone off and getting away with it (not that anyone here would do that - I've played with many of them, specially the guys in the Tucson area - honorable all around).

I bought a used gun off someone here. It was a Commando its is no longer mahahahah. But at any rate the guy said it was new, and well looking over the gun I could tell that he only fired it several times no scraches not even wair on the mag from use. Got it for 200 with standard mag, loading rod, charger, and battery. Not to bad if I do say so my self, only problem it had was he bought if Softair depo so it had that gay orange tip. It took me half hour to break and clean all of that tip off.
