AA BB Rules
« on: December 27, 2004, 11:22:50 PM »
In the rules it says the BBs HAVE to be Excel. They can't be anything else?
I'm just asking to make sure it wasn't one of those rules that just get passed up and forgotten.

I didn't write the rule, but my educated guess is that at the time of writing, Excel BBs were the only available "bio" BBs.

Now, the rules don't say this, but my guess is that the intention was to ensure that bio BBs are used.

Personally, I wouldn't see a reason not to allow non-Excel BBs, so long as they were also bio BBs.  That isn't what it says right now, though.

Maximum FPS (feet per second) for AEG's at the muzzle is 400 for all outdoor events. All airsoft guns used in battle will be chronographed prior to playing. If an AEG chronos above 400 FPS using .2 Excel BB's, it will be disallowed from play. Bolt action/single shot rifles are allowed UP TO 500 FPS but must employ a 50' no shooting zone.  Violation of this zone will result in SEVERE disciplinary action up to and including expulsion from all future AA events.
To play in an AirsoftArizona sanctioned/sponsored event you must use only Excel .20 or .25 BIODEGRADABLE BB's in your AEG's and GBB's. Springer's may use any BB since they often require .12 or .29+ to compensate for fixed hop-up.  Biodegradable BB's are not made in these sizes.

It still says it, just to bring the error to your attention so it can be changed or whatever needs to be done. Maybe it means ONLY sponsored/sanctioned events? Thank for you clarifying that for me Raith :)

I don't think that'd matter though, because most (all?) bio BBs take forever to degrade.

Wow thanks for that informative post by the most senior expert out there.  I can now rest at night knowing that this has been addressed by absent.

In other words for someone who just joined sit back and read more.  Reply when you have more background on a subject and you can't say any biodegradable bbs will meet the rule.  Only a few people have the means to do that.

All in all though I agree with Matt.

Does it state (explicitly) on the box/bottle somewhere that they are Biodegradeable? Though we all know that NONE of the BB's are "true" biodegradable BB's (since they haven't been invented yet), they are better than nothing. The grey supposed "true 100%" Excel Bio BB's are not the best to use in your gun, and if you get them wet or humid and leave them in a gun, magazine or other piece of equipment, you're going to have quite the mess to clean up (and a broken AEG), they are "allowed". I have yet to see any other BB that's been marketed as "biodegradeable". We need to have it stated on the product for "plausable denaibility" if nothing else.

I just emailed PACO and asked him, I'll post when he replies.  I'd think any would do, but the rules are the rules....

Hello all. I am new to airsoft and to add into the kind of BB's to be used I have heard that off brands when they are molded have a rim arround the BB that can mess up the internals of the gun since off brands are not smothed and polished. Does anyone know if this is true. Thanks

i'd imagine there are some .12s that are like that. I have never seen them on any higher weight bbs. I have seen broken BBs, and those little things that model aircraft and cars come on(i keep wanting to think they are called "spruce").

Jungle toy only sells their brand & Infinity BBs... If Inifinity BBs are bio that will make me very happy, meaning that I can use my 4 packs of 2500 lol...
