Finally here: new to the area
« on: June 03, 2005, 01:00:29 PM »
Not sure if any of you remember but I started posting a few months ago saying I was coming to Tucson.  Well, I'm here.

My wife now live in Tucson (the Rita Ranch area) and are finally settled in.  I would have posted sooner but man, moving to the States after you've been overseas for the last 3 years is a BITCH!  Lots of stuff to move, getting accustomed to the new life, two new puppies, you name it.  But, now we're here and we're looking to maybe start up again.  One problem; we only have 220v battery chargers and we need 110v, obviously.

Is there a local store here in Tucson that sells chargers and airsoft stuff in general?  In Italy, they didn't have orange tip laws so my guns don't have them.  Heh, I'd like to remedy this ASAP. ;)

Also, does anybody in the Tucson area get together regularly?  I know I know, it's your typical newbie question, but I don't have the time to search or to sift through the shitton of information on this site.  I'm working full time in the military, training people to go to war so I'm always busy.  Any help would be much appreciated!  Thanks!

Welcome home, Mario!

Keep an eye out for JungleToy in Tucson.  They will have damn near anything you might need.

About the orange tip, don't worry!  I haven't had an orange tip on an airsoft gun since day 1.

Thanks!

I just tried calling Jungletoy here in Tucson; I think they were supposed to open the 1st of this month but the phones were kinda screwy.  I may just take a ride down there today after work.

Anybody going to play tomorrow?  I'd love to come out and see how you guys play here in the States.  I'm relatively a rookie but I started off playing against the Italians with a bunch of EOD guys.  Was definitely a good time but we were kind of unorganized.  We didn't use radios too much and stuck with mostly very, and I mean very unorthodox handsignals heh.  The middle finger usually meant, "fuck you man, I ain't going there". ;)

Welcome back! Thanks for serving. And continuing to serve!

Those are two local (to you) airsoft squads you could contact to see what the Tucson airsoft climate is like. You just missed a pretty big game about 20 minutes away from you this last weekend. Perhaps PM Bucket, Farslayer, Reaver, or andyhinds for more information. They're all pretty plugged into the local airsoft scene and are very accepting/welcoming of new airsofters.

Last but not least, you can PM me with any questions, and I'll try to answer them to the best of my ability.

SASCO is more like 45-60 minutes away from Rita Ranch.

Yeah, as Vince said, SATAC is pretty big on local skirmishes within about 40 minutes of the metro. Tucson area.  If you have any questions about any of those games, you can PM me and visit our site (www.sa-tac.org) to find out more about them.

And welcome to Tucson!  I look forward to seeing you at a game.

Our group plays every weekend down Old Spanish Trail, which isn't far from Rita Ranch.  Check out our boards here for event news: http://boards.multigl.net/index.php?c=6

of course thats ok =). We always like to have new people come down and play with us. Our next game isn't until this coming Saturday though, Jun 11 I think it is. If you need a ride, I drive right past Rita Ranch on my way there, so I would be more than happy to give you one.
