French? nope, brittish troops. And it would suck to be deployed into quicksand too, I am sure the guy in charge of that one had some harsh words after that incident.

Yeah. I was wondering about the french thing...but it's a good thing that the quicksand wasn't to deep...otherwise the video may have not been so funny...

Hey, for once I get to say--"OLD NEWS"!

It also was staged. Look real close at it, you can see a round area where the sand was setup to be saturated, and towards the end, you can see where the photographer walked right next to the sink area.

I believe it was in Iraq.  I think it was a demonstration by the British Army for some top brass.  They wanted to try to form a unit or something for amphibious ops n' stuff.
