It is very easy.  Acutally it is the easiest upgrade that one can do to thier gun.

All you have to do is remove the two pins that hold your M4 upper an lower together.  Slide the barrel and upper apart from the lower reciever.  You will see your gear box, dont mess with that.  Once you have your gun into two parts, you can easily slide the hop up unit and barrel out of the gun.  They will come out togther since they are attached.   Genlty pull the barrel from the hop up unit.  Do this on a table as a small rubber peice may fall out!  The rubber bucking should come out with the barrel but if it doesnt just use your fingers or pliers to remove the bucking from the hop up. Hang on to that tiny piece of rubber that will probally fall out, as it is very important!  Now you are set up to read David's execellent write up on how a hop up system is broken down and reinstalled. You can use some of these steps to reinstall your new barrel.

Thanks a lot for answering so fast. BTW is there any recomendations on what tightbore i should get. i saw a SRC tightbore at Jungletoy and it says it will fit but i was wondering if there were better or is that one good. i dont mind buying online either. but Jungletoy would be easier.

I like the Systema BS 6.04mm barrels.  I've put one in every AEG I've owned.

They are inexpensive and add a good bit of accuracy and velocity to your AEG.

The KM and Prometheus brand TN coated 6.03 barrels used to have a smaller HOPUP cut, that would need to be enlarged for consistent hop.  I don't know if they are still like that, though.  They cost about 50 each, as opposed to the 30 pricetag of the Systema barrels.  Those prices are for M4 length.

I have a Prometheus. Got it about 2 years ago and the cut your talking about fit fine on the hop up.  And yes they are more costly than the regular tightbore, almost double!  I've heard that most people can't tell the difference between the two 6.04 and 6.03mm, if there is any difference.

I had a systema barrel and it shot amazing, used to have it in my M4 but then I switched to a Prometheus and it just doesn't have the same reach.
I'm pretty sure its something to do with the hop up maybe that notch- but then again ICS hop up is different than the rest.
