A motor will increase ROF a spring will increase FPS. A classic army may have a hair more FPS out of the box. But I have also heard it has a shorter inner barrel. Any way, if you plan on upgrading your gun yourself I would say get a G36. If you want a nice gun that few use, and plan on having a professional upgrade go and get the sig. Also keep in mind that the sig will need  the wiring rewired to the outside or hooking it to a G&P PEQ-2 Unit that will house a 9.6v 3300mAh NiMH battery.

The G36c may also need to be changed to house a larger battery so the Large forgip from first factory with work.

Power
« Reply #16 on: December 16, 2005, 10:40:18 PM »
I guess more hitting power is what I mean.  Since I have never used or been hit with an AEG I guess I want to make sure that people can feel the BB from a good distance.  I found these upgrades on another one:

Systema M120 Spring
Systema PolyCarb. Piston
Systema NB Cylinder Set
Systema Version 3 Metal Spring Guide with Ball Bearings
Systema Metal Bushings
Systema Original Ratio Gears
Systema 6.04 Precision Tightbore Inner Barrel
Systema Hop Bucking

Since the custom gun is selling for $750 I am guessing you can go all out on these things.  :D  400 fps and up to 120 feet.  To all those who have played in these games can you acctually feel the BB hitting you from lets say 50 or 60 feet?  That is what has always held me back from getting into the game itself, I wasnt sure just how powerful they are...if you could acctually feel the hit or not from a good distance.

Tell you what, I will shoot at you from 10 to 60 feet, and you can tell me if it hurts when it hits ya. Seriously you will feel the hit at a 400fps mark and up to a hundred feet, and farther. 50-60 feet is where the bb will start losing power.

You get a good gun with the right upgrades you will have no problem.  I have an RPK guarder limited. Its an marui AK at heart. The big difference is the looks on the outside. It has a V3 gearbox with systema internals and G&G gears. I have a systema sig550 inner barrel the longest innerbarrel that one can have in a regular AEG. The PSG-1 is the longest but that can only be used in a PSG-1 or semi only gun. My RPK has the longest range and keeps the power longer. The longer the inner barrel the farther the bb will go. FPS helps to. Cover the inner barrel with a mock silencer, and your good to go.

Keep in mind there are the older gas guns not just AEG's. Gas guns will not drop in fps the same way a AEG will. Gas stays behind the bb longer.

Just remember that if your gun shoots 400fps, it needs to be semi-auto and you can only shoot people out of 50feet.

And, suggestion: If you try to get it to shoot 399fps, right on the boarder of that 400 mark, you get the reputation of a prick by most people on the boards. I know my gun never shot over 370. I made sure of that, and I still got the kills I worked for. You get plenty of range on 370. And, most shots are heard, not felt. When you have tons of gear on like a few of the people on the boards, even a tac vest will stop the BB from hurting you, or you may not even feel it at all. It's honesty, if you see or hear rounds bouncing off, you call it. If you don't, you regret it later, because either you get to chat with Airsofter1 (or one of the mods), or the rumors spread and people make sure you call it out.

You mean over 400fps. But, you made a good point to reach the 400fps mark exactly is nearly impossible. You may get as close to 385-390 but if you try to reach that extra couple of points your gun will be shooting over the limit. 375 - 390 is a good happy place.

so, I just followed the link to airsoftshop.com and found that they are selling the Marui G36C with battery and charger and a 400+ FPS upgrade for only $283.  The gun is only $228 there.  Are they reputable?  For that price I think I would go with that rather then the CA one.

Well, don't just think about the AEG. Think about if there are any good mag pouches for it, and etc. I had a G36c and had a hell of a time trying to find good gear to match. Great gun though.
