Taurus 1911

No but a friend of mine picked one up and he said the springfield armory 1911 was significantly better out of the box. He is a dies hard 1911 guy and has probably 15-20 of them from verious makers so I trust his judgement.

definatly agree, i have fired both and there is a difference

Where'd you fire the PT-1911 they are pretty hard to come by since they just came on the market.  I haven't even been able to find a store that stocks them?

What is significantly better?

For the money its a good plinker, that comes in .45. At least that is how I see it. Based on what I have seen, its one of the cheapest .45s around, besides the Glock 21.

I would rather not use it as a carry pistol, becuase I would trust Colt, Kimber, and other more known 1911 manufacturers.
