Feet Per Second
« on: January 23, 2006, 06:51:07 PM »
Ok so ive been using that nifty search function and ive found some conflicting limits as pertaining to Feet Per Second in CQB games. It says on the Rules/CoC page the 300FPS is max for CQB and a Stock Gun but Classic Army stock guns come out of the box hotter then that.

I ask because i purchased a TM M733 with a new Spring Bringing the FPS up to ruffly 325. What i really wanna know is can i use this for CQB or am a S.O.L.

Where's the conflict in that? If it shoots over 300FPS, you can't use it in CQB, but that doesn't matter because we never play CQB. You'll be fine.

CA's are not "Stock". Stock is a term from back in the day when stock meant under 300fps, as all guns shot under that from the factory. Now CA's came along and they are already pre-upgraded from the factory, so the term stock is a vague thing now.  As Vince said, the rule states 300fps no matter what the other terms are this is always constant.

The conflict is several stock AEG's Shoot over 300 easily Classic Army used in my example. Since this is my only AEG i wanna make sure i can play any game i attend.

And if CQB games arnt even played as you said why even have em in the Rules/CoC all i want is a clarifacation on a conflict in the rules.

The CoC hasn't been updated in like 3 years. It's cool, don't worry.

if you are really that worried about it, just get a Marui velocity reducer...

That's fine as long as you only fire Semi-automatic - open up Full Auto and the reducer is worthless....

(you probably knew that, but ...)

I've found that the Marui reducers work quite well even in bursts of automatic fire.

I used one at OP: Restore Order all weekend and it worked fine.  They DO f*ck with your backspin from the hopup, though.  Reduces accuracy a bit.
