As he had described earlier, this is not a profit-making venture for him, he isn't looking to retire on airsoft arenas. That being said I can draw two logical conclusions:

1) He'll be doing this as a side venture which then means:

2) He still has a job and would like to continue working at it

Which then leads to the conclusion that it would have to be somewhere marginally close to home, and a 2-hour drive to Phoenix just to do more work seems... foolhardy to me.

Tucson might not have the same population as the 5th largest city in the US (Yes, Phoenix..) however we have enough people here to make it an interesting and quite likely profitable venture. Tucson players might not spend 1500 dollars each gun on 5 guns, but that doesn't mean we don't have money. It just means we don't blow it all on fake weapons.

Faber, did you know that out at Pinal Airpark (N. of Tucson on I-10) there's a bunch of training areas for the Feds? Might draw a few folks from there..

Anyway, to get back on topic...  Warlock, I think the point that some are trying to make is that there is more of a base in the Phoenix area to open an indoor airsoft field.  Phoenix is just bigger.  I think what C-bone was trying to say from those two pics in a very blunt like way, was that most players in the Phoenix area spend more on airsoft than down in the Tucson.  I don't think anyone is trying to knock "you guys down there" or anyone anywhere else for that matter.  Its just the way the demographic is.

Yes, airsoft is growing in Tucson.  Its growing in general all over the state.  You guys have a lot of pride down there.  Keep doing what you are doing, and airsoft will be what it will be.  The short of it is, you are doing good things.  Organize games - just shoot'em ups, or some serious milsim.  Keep everyone safe, and encourage honor, sportsmanship, and integrity.

Precisely.

Warlock, no one's "dissing" you, bro.

Phx guys spend alot on gear, spend alot on guns, spend alot on National OPs, and would spend more on an airsoft arena, if there were one - that's all.

There are some good solid folks down in Tucson.  Guys like you, Reaver, Pryde, et al.  There's not as much animosity between North and South as some would be led to believe.  We buried that hatchet a long time ago!

So, with regards to the arena - it would be nice to have it halfway, but PHX will be there no matter where it is. 8)

One big thing the Tucson is lacking (and some parts of Phoenix) are warehouses.  People will tell you that they are cheap, etc.  But the artists have taken all the cheap ones, and the rest are nice warehouses that want a lot of money.  When I did the business plan, I figured I needed at least 75-100 people coming through per week to cover costs.  Most people will only come out one day a week.
The alternative would be buy a crappy piece of property, but up a 'pole barn' and start from there.  Since you can use BLM land for airsoft for free, its hard to compete.  AirsoftCqb.com is probably the exception to the rule and even they only have 30 people average per day, huge facility, but a lot of overhead to get started.

Exactly, how many goddamn civil wars do you people need!

This sounds like blatant plagiarism of NoCal vs SoCal if you ask me ;)

We don't need any more civil wars. The last one was a slaughter.
