Practical Tactical no longer accepts PayPal
« on: May 24, 2006, 06:52:56 AM »
The PayPal Nazis have determined that our items do not meet their "acceptable use policy" and have cancelled our account, freezing over $500 of our money.  Thus, we no longer accept PayPal as a payment method.  We apologize for the inconvenience, but it wasn't our choice.

You are correct....it likely isn't acceptable.

Basically, I sell magazines and accessories for AR and other military-style rifles.  The accessories one could almost call airsoft stuff, but the mag definitely isn't.

Some creep ordered one so they'd have a record, then locked the account.

This isn't the first time it's happened (not to me), but has been quite common with businesses like me.  Freezing the money gives them a nice 6 month loan with which to earn interest....

drop a State small claims on them for conversion of your $500 and get three times that amount in damages.  Filing fee is $20 or something like that.  The would have to release the funds on a court order.

Since what they've done is part of the whole, long-assed user's agreement, which I agreed to, that lawsuit wouldn't get very far.

Its called an "adhesion agreement" and in a nutshell, they had the superior bargaining position and you HAD to agree to the language or not use the site.  There was no consideration (money paid for something or benefit-detriment exchange) and guys like Pay Pal loose lawsuits every day.

The nice thing about small claims is you don't have to be a lawyer to kick the big companies' asses.

Most likely they would release your funds as soon as they were served (by delivering the complaint to the AZ Corp Comm.).

But what do I know.....  ;)
