CA CQBR
« on: May 29, 2006, 09:57:31 PM »
Well a few of us found out this weekend that the Gonzo batteries we purchased are a little too powerful for our CQBR's.  It seems the rate of fire is too much and in Auto it can't keep up.  I was just wondering what some of yall had in mind to resolve this issue?

I thought the guns worked fine as long as you shot in 5-6rd bursts. But, when I had to empty 100rds at an Aco that thought I was a friendly, it had feeding issues. It'd skip a round every 20th shot or so. No big deal, to me.

Torque up gears. Slow the rate of fire down.

I thought we talked about this?

It's like the valve springs in a car engine. The higher the RPM's rev, the more the valves will begin to float open causing the engine to fail at high RPM. The solution is slow the engine down or change the spring on the valve so it will open and close at a faster rate. Same thing is happening with the nozzle and tappet plate.

That or a EG700 motor. There is also that adaptor to put on the sector gear to keep the tappet plate back longer to allow BBs to feed (but I haven't heard much on that) http://www.wgcshop.com King Arms Gear Sector Clip

They say 9.6, but we are thinking it could be higher.

Do you guys have enough FPS to play with where you can drop a M120 in? The silver ones will boost it over, but what about the colored ones? The heavier spring might give you enough to slow it down.

I clocked in at 330 at the chrono at LCV with .25's.  So should have plenty of room to play with.

Another idea Matt had was taking one of the cell's off the gonzo battery to make it 8.4 which would lower the ROF.

I would imagine it  just needs a little adjustment if the shorts bursts are fine and is just the long bursts that have issues keeping up. Lowering the battery to a 8.4 might be to big of an adjustment, if you like the real high rate of fire that is.

Mine simply cannot fire in F/A at all.  It gets 1 bb out and fires to fast from there on and cannot keep up.  I think torque-up gears and motor should set it straight, or just an EG700 as was stated.

I fired in Semi all of LC, and really didn't care that I couldn't use F/A.

it seems that there is often a trade off when you start to upgrade AEG's.  They seem to be harder to maintain and break down more often...which kind of makes sense.

Same here, I adjusted quickly though but given the situation the high speed in semi auto was just perfect for me, still got tons of kills. A reliable burst would be nice for those bush shots and players with extra anti 6 mm armor.

Well. I could have sworn it was the piston. But when I opened the gearbox I found that it was the middle gear that had lost some teeth. That REALLY surprised me. But I guess it was just that one random, rare, time that something will fluke like that. Oh well. I guess I'm getting some some new gears...
