ProWin Gearbox for Marui M4/M16 Series

Prowin gearbox for Tokyo Marui M4A1. Prowin is a new brand under PGC. Fits M4 of different brands: compatible with Systema, G&P(NEW type), CA, Guarder and Hurricane M4 / M16 series body. Note that modification is required to fit into all these models. Extremely reliable, manufacturer claims that the unit would still carry on functioning even after 60,000 test shots! Really smart design integrates the hop-up unit into a single unit with the rest of the gearbox, thereby eliminating any air leakage and generating maximum power. In RedWolf tests, we were able to achieve 530fps - 550fps using a Systema 160% spring in a regular barreled M4 (standard barrel length). For comparison's sake, a Systema 160% spring usually generates about 450fps - 460fps in a standard M4 (assuming all high performance parts are added) This kind of performance from the ProWing gearbox was simply unheard of in the traditional gearbox design. But best of all, the gearbox's rear part can be easily taken off with the removal of a single screw, and allow you to change out springs in literally 2 minutes time. Go from stock 280fps to 550fps in a blink of an eye (assumes your internal gears are modified to support the 550fps spring.) Two thumbs up and worth the price if you are a power player!
Inside the box:
-Hop Packing
-Nozzle
-Chamber
-Cylinder
-Piston (Marui Std)
-Tappet Plaste
-M80&M130 Spring
-Motor Pad
-Spring Set
-Bearing
-Manual
-Reference CD (videos and photos on how to make your modifications)

I may have to buy another M4 ;)

So, is that similar to the ICS two piece gearbox? Or am I looking at this thing funny?

Interesting.  At $176, it's cheaper then a complete Systema gearbox.  I wonder what modifications are necessary to make it fit.

Disclaimer: RedWolf does not encourage players in using this gearbox to upgrade their power levels after chrono testing at major airsoft events. That would be construed as cheating and is also harmful to other players. Play fair, play safe!

What does this have to do with anything?

This is a super old thread - in the 3 years since it got posted I bought, installed, kind of broke, and sold it.

It was really cool but it requires a very specific host (like G&P or Hurricane or Guarder only) and is kind of hard to get installed. I think that the airsoft cognoscenti have figured out how to get it 100% perfect (milling a small part in the front to give the tappet more travel and so forth), so it might be worth a look now.

It shot very consistently but since it is machined aluminum it had a very loud and high pitched tone to it. I never used the spring relaxer. I also never really changed the springs.

There's a throwback for you. That's how long ago this was - Jungletoy Scottsdale.
