sidearm dilema
« on: July 12, 2006, 12:55:44 PM »
Im torn between 3 sidearms to carry. The 3 im deciding on are the m9, m11 and the 1911 which are all in use with the majority of our military excpet the 1911 which are found mostly in the marines;).

Im looking at a WA Kimber MARSOC the ohhh so special Force Recon Det 1 1911 (drooool dont get me started on the real one) $229.00

TM p226 rail with guarder metal frame/slide upgrade. $139.99 plus however much the guarder frame/slide upgrade is

And a TM m92f. $134.99

Now which one would be a better choice i know i have 2 TMs listed. Im looking for metal upgrades and reliability. I know TMs are reliable from you guys telling me but what about the Western Arms?

If u like P226s, i would recomend getting the all metal KJW for around $119.00 It comes full metal, shoots bout 315(ive chronoed mine), and its fairly accurate.

My opinion will never change about the KJ Works M9 Beretta, FMV. It's, uh... Full-Metal Version, gas blowback. They cost $99.99 at the local JT. $140-something for a package, including the gun and mag, BBs, holster, and a lot of gas (I think four or six? Bought mine a long time ago).

It's a great sidearm.

I never knew that three inches was the minimum length for a handgun barrel. I guess all of the anti-gun politicians wont be able to register their penises.

I'd go with the cheapest.  outside of designated pistol matches or CQB backup, you won't use it very often.  that's been my experience.

I usually skip the whole sidearm thing altogether... Although next game, I'm going sniper... Which is why I have a new Glock 18C. :D  (It rocks, btw)

Sniper eh? as long as you don't plan on going to southwest! They shot me down with my measly 591 fps and said it was too hot...

As for a sidearm, I'm currently enjoying KJ's m9

The sad thing is that nobody will let me use my "good" sidearm...  Apperently, having your sidearm shooting 450+  isn't allowed.  Strange. :D

I know you didn't mention this pistol, but the KWA G-19 is an excellent gun, I got mine for 100 and it has a metal slide.

I would suggest the KJW M9 Its nice and cheap, think it was 79.99 I have the plastic slide and never had any problems with it. I found on the field the pistols are just a fun toy to mess around with, its rare you will ever put down the AEG for it so you dont need anything fancy, metal slides are better if you are using the pistol a lot, but on the field it does not get the use to really worry about it.

The WA guns are nice but I would never really use one becuase I would'nt want to drop it and break something, and lose a big chunk of money either replacing what I broke or the entire gun.

591FPS? if a LPEG can knock out teeth, just think of the damage a 500+ FPS airsoft gun  canl do. it's all to do with safety.. it only takes one bad fu** up to ruin it for every one.

considering a 9 x 19 mm round travels about 1200 FPS you are almost half way there... not to mention a 22LR's muzzle velocity is around 710 FPS, you can begin to understand that airsoft (especially higher end, high powered AEG's/GBBs) shouldnt be necessarily a toy, but a responsiblity. safety standards in organized games are there for a reason.

if you like the Sigs get the 226, KJ's is cheaper and full metal compared to the TM....
