NEW PICS of AZTAC Project
« on: July 27, 2006, 12:37:42 PM »
I dont know why the original pics arent showing up in my browser. So I went to the area and took some new pics. Here they are. As I left Tucson yesterday I took I-10 to count the miles. From Tangerine Rd to exit 203 is 35miles from exit 203 to Chuichu is 8 miles. just FYI.

I hope these pictures keep everyone interested. Politics on the rez (like every where else) is a slow process.

looks like parts of it would need to be rebuilt so the donj't kill you. other than that looks like fun. almost a perfect CQB course.

All I can say is "Wow!"

I hope they let us use the site, it's a shame to let it just go fallow.

Dude... i am soooo down to play there... i just hope things go well with letting players use the area.  It is an excellent CQB field.  I also saw open areas for sniping, and support fire set-ups.  Looks like a wide range of weapons can be excersized on this field...  fuckin' awesome!  :D

If this actually became a playable field, I would most certainly have to buy a new AEG and re-gear.  It would be too fun.

(suggestion) On the subject of rebuilding, I doubt there would have to be too much of it. For example, if the entire area we're talking about were one entire field, it'd be very difficult to play if there were only three entrances to a large building because it's very easy for whoever's inside to cover the doorways (thinking of capture the flag, deathmatch, etc). Fix the place up, but if there's a hole in the wall, leave it open, and even make a few more. This would make it more like a warzone, as well as allow team leaders to create more elaborate strategies.

Hey everyone,
I am really sorry I havent posted in awhile. I got the ball rollin some when a flood threatened the community of Chuichu, so understandably my proposal has been put on a back burner.
But before that I was in a bit of a pickle. As I have stated before, it only takes one person to be against the project in order for it to fail. In speaking to a community member. This person stated that several members including himself would not allow the project to go through with out insurance. Now there are some insurance companies who will insure airsoft but only (i forget the terminology) along with paintball. Every company asked about the layout of the field, infrastructure, water and fall hazards, as well as the fields proximity to non gaming areas (registration booth, snack shop, and of course the nearest community. The field being just across the road and technically in the commuinty of Chuichu, I was told the area was to close and stray paintball/6mm bbs would be too much of a liability.
Things arent looking so great fellas.
I'll get back to you on updates

It would cost a bit more, but can't you just fence it in and put up some tarp? Like in a tennis court or some sh*t?

I'm sure he'll explore every option, he seems pretty intent on getting this going. It's got to be a difficult process I'm sure, maybe the guys at SWPB could help you with some tips from the stuff they had to go through to get it running.
