Tightbore
« on: August 08, 2006, 12:19:51 PM »
Im getting a tightbore for my CA CQB, and i was wondering who makes the best ones. I know KM and Prometheus are good but is systema? And what is the length on the CQB barrel?

I know I'm probably totally wrong about this but I look at Systema and Prometheus the same way.

I never knew that three inches was the minimum length for a handgun barrel. I guess all of the anti-gun politicians wont be able to register their penises.

Yeah, you are.

If you compare Prometheus barrels to Systema, they have a more aggressive crown (usually finished much better as well), and a thicker wall. For me, the inner barrel is a tight fit into the outer barrel, which is how I like it. Keeps it from wobbling too much. I also feel that the heavier barrel stays truer during shipping.

Then again, the two barrels are also in different classes. The Prometheus is markedly more (almost 50%) and is also tighter (6.03mm).

im going to buy a KM MC51 tighbore because thats the closest to the CQB. anything else i can do to make it more accurate, it shoots around 315 with .25's, i was thinking maybe a new nozzel, but i don't want my gun to crap out. form upgrading it.

if you want cost effectiveness get a KM.
if you want best performance get Prometheus.
systemas still makes its barrels out of brass so the inside finish wears easier.

Obviously you didn't read anything anyone posted...

Prometheus is the way to go...But beware If you do alot of Auto shooting to have it sittnig int he hop chamber very correctly or it can jam due to the extra tightness.

Well no where does it say the inner barrel length of my gun. So I tryed a MP5 barrel, and Paul said it was too short, and suggested I get the MC51. I did, and it fit well.
But my gun is shorter than yours.

Pilz your barrel length is 280mm and I would highly recommend the KM MC51 barrel, its 285 so its almost perfect
