Upgrading a CA M15 Rifle
« on: August 08, 2006, 01:59:51 PM »
I currently have a Prometheus 6.03 Tightbore, Prometheus soft type hop bucking, and a PDI 170% spring in my CA M16. I'm finding the tightbore didn't help accuracy as much as I'd hoped and I'm looking for a way to improve accuracy and a little extra FPS. Right now it's shooting about 320 with .25s and I'm trying to keep it under 375 with .25s. I've been told to get a Prometheus type A cylinder, Prometheus POM piston head, Deepfire full tooth piston, Prometheus version II cylinder head, Prometheus sealing air nozzle, and a Systema torque up. Anyone know if this stuff'll help?

dude if you can get by with what you have dont worry about it.
never get an upgrade till you NEED it.
dont worry about fps.
if u wanna spend that kind of money focus on ROF!
trust me when i say that it truely isnt worth hundreds of dollars just so u can get 1 or 2 more kills in a days play.

I didn't say I needed FPS. I said I needed accuracy. And I don't need ROF. The last thing I need is to go through my 30rnd magazines faster.

i think accuracy wise the best you can do is get a better fps and tighbore which you have. Those are the 2 factors that affect accuracy.

Well I know things like air seals in the gearbox will give it better accuracy.

Well since you already have an accuracy barrel and a spring your accuracy isn't going to get much better than that.

The gear box upgrades will not do anything for the accuracy. All they do is help make it run more efficient and some parts will help decrease the stress. An improved gear box will increase your FPS and that will help accuracy to a point. You are just looking at hop up and inner barrel for the accuracy though.

For what I understand

If you do a search I am sure you will find all about increasing accuracy.

Remember that AA FPS rules state that AEG's have to have a FPS of under 400 with .20 BB's.

I dont think hes to worried about AA's rules on fps, Ryan, many have said and it is true, you have everything that will increase your accuracy, the only thing that will help is a longer barrel, but your CA is already long enough

Or if accuracy isn't satisfying enough go to plan B :

SPRAY AND PRAY   [-o<

(that is plan A for me)

Ryan you dont want to do that, kids like that make fun targets, they throw 300 bbs your way and you only shot 3 and there hit, the spray and pray technique is for kids with no marksmanship skills

Ummm...okay.  I can tell you if he ever comes down here, he'll get chrono'd.

I don't know who he plays with, but it is concerning to think that the chance of him coming to one of the official games eventually is good with a hot gun.

If he doesn't, then there isn't any problem I guess.

I have hit people with 1 hit, and I have hit people with 100. A kill is a kill. And for me it deosn't matter how many BBs it takes to get the job done. I don't have a long gun, and the range is what you would expect from most AEGs, so
I see no point is "sniping" someone when you can end it right away. But you play how you want I don't want to steel this guy's topic.

Fish, I think you need some kinda SAW...

I'm really not satisfied with my accuracy  :?  Guess I'll just have to deal with it.
