Blind-firing?
« on: August 10, 2006, 10:37:32 PM »
Is blindfire against the rules( i read the AA rules but dont remember anything about this).

I bring this up because i have been yelled at for blind firing (by the person i hit) and i know AA is all about milsim and i prefer that type of gameplay. Blindfire is VERY milsim Considering blindfiring is done by any and all troops if at the time it is the most strategic way to kill an enemy I geuss the only reason for this to be against the rules is for saftey.

If you can't see what your gun is shooting at, it's blindfiring.

Most the time I see our troops making fun of the enemy troops when they blind fire by placing their gun over cover with no idea what the hell they are doing, it’s not very strategic at all and it is just sad to see a soldier doing that.

As far as airsoft goes it is not safe to fire indiscriminately at all.

There are times when blindfire is very useful but most of the time it is not. for example if you're pinned down and possibly injured and you have lets say 35 enemies closing in I wouldnt expose my head and try aiming at them thats a great way to get your head blown off. If i have enough ammo im gonna try and hit them or at least hold them off by blindfiring.

Well I was in a situation were I was behind a little wooden "shield" and there were BBs flying at me from the side and from the front. There were 2 guys in front of me with good cover and a sniper to my right. So, I put my gun on the shield and fired in full auto for a few seconds... and a guy from my team came to help. SO we took out the 2 guys in front... and then I had to retreat because alot more guys showed up.

I though that was the best thing I could do at the time. But I do see how that could be unsafe.

You don't need blindfire in airsoft unless you're in a close-quarters situation. You have plenty f time to stretch your neck out and take a looksie before a BB makes it across forty feet.

But blind cover fire is okay, I guess.

In CQB blind firing is at it's most dangerous....I've got some scars to prove it, and anyone who's been stuck in a narrow corridor while some idiot blind fires in full auto (especially with guns chrono'd over 350) can definetly tell you how much it sucks.
