Rules Compatibility Question?
« on: August 12, 2006, 11:59:15 AM »
I saw this on the www.rap4.com website, and I was wondering if these would be legal for play if they meet the fps limits?  They are .19 gram in weight.

Here is a link to info about them.  Thanks

Interesting... How would they eject?
It seems like a good idea, but then again... not so good.

I never knew that three inches was the minimum length for a handgun barrel. I guess all of the anti-gun politicians wont be able to register their penises.

you'd probably have to buy a special gun but it sounds like a neat idea.

They're made for the RAP4 airsoft M4.

They also make a version that shoots a small caliber of paintball.

Hahaha. Did you see their promotional videos? It's probably a hit for paintball, but not for airsoft.

I know that, it's like a .48 caliber.

It's not the standard size paintball.

I hope the lunch room chatting is done. I am no authority on this, but I would believe that as long as it met the joules limit, being under 1.5 joules you would be fine. Mikey (airsofter1) would have to say yea or nea on that for official AA games.

The other obvious question is would it be worth it?  Do the little foot ball shape bb's actually have a greater range than that of our regular airsoft guns. I would have to seriously doubt that unless the bb has spin placed on it somehow. But again it never says anything about that. You would be incuring alot of cost in a special gun, gas, and special mags for a trial. I personally would find some user reviews and let some other guy try it out before spending good money on it.

These seem really cool, I would assume the best way to get range and accuracy out of a low velocity, smoothbore weapon like an airsoft gun would be to use some type of fin stabilized projectile. I have always thought this type of solution would be excellent for sniper type applications where the prohibitive price of the ammuntion could be offset by using less of it. Though it would probably not go as far as an equivilent airsoft bb with backspin, I would bet that the accuracy gain could be significant.

Again though, one of the things I love about airsoft is the cheap ammo; I cant imagine this to be every be cheap, and you better hope they dont go out of business and stop making the stuff...

actualy i think those neft type football things are kinda cool for a sniper not for a  m4. Becuase its uneffectice to use that on a automatic gun.

I can't say for sure but the company that makes them claims they are accurate to 300 ft.  They have sent some to the hosts at airsoftradio.com for testing so untill they post some results I don't know.  I just wanted to make sure before I even invest in this thing if it would be legal.  I know that it will certainly cost more than regular bb's, but if they work good then I am willing to pay.  Thanks for all the responses.
