Mad Bull Accurate Barrel
« on: August 17, 2006, 08:56:19 AM »
Ok, so... i had a Prometheus 6.03 for my AK.  Come to find out, the barrel was bent.  I think it may have happened during shipping, but i havn't really noticed it since i got it, i only used in in a few games.  But yeah, well, the barrel cost me close to $70.  I want to get another barrel, but from a different company (maybe Evike), and hopefully for a better price.  I found one for $29.99.  It is a 6.03mm TBB made by Mad Bull.  I was wondering if anyoine knows anything about Mad Bull and theuir products before i buy it.

This may sound odd, but try an archery shop, they have shaft straighteners that just might work for your dilema.

So... it looks like i'm gonna have to find out if i can get the promeheus trues out at an archery shop.  It seems as if you have to find a retailer within town to buy an accurate barrel, because they get bent during shipping!  WTF is the point of an accurate barrel if it's bent!?  I'm going to contact Evike.com and notify them of the bent barrel i received.  Ugh... that just makes me sooo F***ing mad!

I would be weary of the archery shop, truing up a bent aarow isnt the same as a barrel. If they dont take into account that the interior measurement cant change it should work, but if they smash it at all or if the bend bows it may cause a bb to jam there and KB your bb gun. I would suggest the teflon-nickel TN barrels from KN they are very strong and can handle a lot of rounds before needing to be replaced.

I have a Madbull Black Python tightbore in my M4, and I couldn't be happier with the quality and performance.

That's strange, I have mail ordered two barrels and they came in fine.

Well, the Mad Bull was in a flattened cardboard box, so it took up more space than necessary.  UPS delivered it... and from what i hear... all the employees just toss the packages on the ramp.  I have a friend that works there, and from the stories he tells me on how they keep busy and fast, is they just throw shit!  But yeah, both barrels i have mail ordered both came in bent.   Oh, and thanks for the feedback about the Mad Bull TBB.

I've also had friends working at UPS tell me the exact same thing, I don't suppose putting a fragile label on the package might help.

They bent my barrel too.  They used it as a jamming rod in the poster tube.  It's covered in issue #11 of The NAM (Sept 15th release).

Well, i sent Evike an e-mail about the product.  I'm hoping that maybe they can resolve the complaint by refund or replacement... as well as an express carrier that takes care of the parcels.  Still havn't had a chance to test it out and see how bad the bend is, been busy since i just started a new job (now i go to school AND work TWO jobs in a day... 0_o).  I may have to go back to the stock one if the curve is too excessive.

I found Evike's customer service to be a little lax, I remember emailing the store a dozen times from different email accounts and not so much as getting a single response. You may just want to harass them via phone as much as possible.
