funny thing about a Glock.....   they always seem to just discharge out of the blue....

you were kidding right?

um yeah....  I'm still trying to figure out how that happened without the guy just pulling the trigger....

The guy had the slide racked in an obvious effort to show that it had no rounds chambered, I would suspect that instead of removing the mag, he just let the slide go foreward and loaded a round then depressed the trigger to relase the hammer and oops.. there was a round chambered. Glocks dont go off by themselves, it takes a dumbass to misuse it.

here's what happened
« Reply #18 on: September 08, 2006, 03:39:40 PM »
ok, here's what happened..

so he was on the throne, pinchin' one off, and had no holster or whatever - just g-styling the thing in his waistband (I've done it, on a trip to 7-11 for nachos) so he had to rest it somewhere cause the tp dispenser is too round to set a gun on it without it sliding off. so he had it setting on his knee and when he went to wipe, it slipped off his knee - and he grabbed for it and caught it.. right in the trigger guard and popped one off with his thumb.. that's how I see it as going down. oops.

Really this is quite a possible situation.
If its falling, let it fall, it won't hurt it or go off(i've thrown my glock across tile and pavement to prove a point more then once)

Look at fishes post. That is what we are talking about. Not the guy with the glock. A cop is giving a gun safety demonstration and shoots himself. I'm sorry i did not make that clear in my last post. Sorry.

This reminds me of this video, were a cop's gun "discharged" in a classroom. But except this guy wasn't so lucky, he shot himself. I mean, it doesn’t get worse than that.

Yeah it does....

Old friend of mine on the S.O back home was cleaning his sidearm and like a doofus FORGOT TO CHECK the chamber.

.45 calibre circumcision....

I wasn't surprised when I later heard his wife divorced him.....

that's what I was saying, we all have been there - sitting on the john, resting your piece on your knee, cause that's the only logical place to put it while your pants are down. The most simple explaination is usually the most logical lol. Poor guy was just in a bad situation. half of us probably would have grabbed for it while it was falling too just instinctively.

We talked about this guy in a Concealed Carry class I was in in FL.  I think the Detective holding the class mentioned he was a Fed of some sort.

He did insert a round into his leg.

I agree with Hollywood, poopypants should have been using a holster.
