New System Motors
« on: September 13, 2006, 12:02:24 AM »
Looks promising. Only problem I see is the Chinese government is regulating some of the materials used in Neo hence the reason the price for Neo has tippled in the past few months.

Technical highlights of this new Systema motor include:

- Superior neodymium magnets provide unprecedented torque in AEG motor history
- Hand-wound rotor coils deliver over 80% of maximum torque instantly (at zero RPM / start up)
- Newly designed brush & brush case provide greater contact area for higher current flow without unnecessary surface friction
- Individually balanced commutator, meticulously aligned bearing inserts, and new CNC-machined aluminum end bell combines to ensure rotor stability at extreme speeds.

I hope the pinion gear is press fit on. That removable option sucks.

I know that the neodymiun magnets are really strong rare-earth magnets.  One the size of a quarter can lift 25 pounds.

From that picture, it looks like it has a set screw in the lower pinion gear.
